If Gordon is playing then he would be a rookie elevation. I just checked Swans website and it is for Playfair.

Hawks have not beat the Swans at the SCG since 1995.

I would hate to see Smithy pigeon holed as a tagger for the rest of his career, he could be an excellent attacking midfielder if given the chance

( and as much as i hate to say it Brett Kirk has not been at AFL standard for a fair chunk of this year) Sides like Richmond, Melbourne, North, Freo have showed that if u want younger players to come on u have to allow them a chance to play AFL football for a sustained period of time. Hopefully Longmire is a more kid friendly coach, I'd hate to see us lose some of these potential stars for our footy club. I think there should be some questions asked at the end of the year of whether Bevan, Tadgh, Shaw, Richards are part of our future. And if they aren't, show them the door. We need spots to play these kids
Yeh, coz that policy has worked soooo well for those clubs.

Yeah its always interesting when people quote clubs that have consistently performed poorly over the last few years as examples to follow. So what if they give games to a whole heap of kids , it doesnt make those kids necessarily good enough to actually reach a premiership. It just means they have a whole hepa of kids who have played a lot of games. Those clubs still have a few senior players and a whole heap of up and down results . Dont tell me that Melbourne, Freo, Richamond and Norths dont have players like Bevan, Ted, shaw etc in their list. In fact I bet a lot of those up and coming kids will only ever be as good as those guys at best.

Currie - is playing in the 2s, where he says he expected to play this year. Still a bit slight in build. Meanwhile a 26 yo who is the strongest person in the club is playing as backup ruckman. And doing okay. So no surprise there.
I'm just going on what the official injury list says and none of them are on it

Take your point, but if you don't play the kids, how will you ever know if their good enough.

Maybe we won't find out until their starring for another team.

After the thrashing by Geelong a lot of the senior Swans players were seen on tv joking around with the Geelong players maybe a lot of the senior players know they're not good enough or not physically able and maybe they should go and have their operations now and let a few young ones come in and do the job.

Really? He is nowhere near the player he once was.

Terrible one on one defender and apart from in a couple of decent games, he has lost his attacking flair.

Personally I don't see why this is a problem. It's a lot better than being sore losers. The senior guys from all teams would, I expect, know each other to an extent after being in the same system for so long and will often share a chat and a laugh after a game.

Incorrect his last month bar the melbourne game has been very good running hard of half back and delivering accurately averaging 23 touches over that period. He may have lost a touch of pace but he has been excellent.

And he shut down travis varcoe very nicely last week. One of our real winners on the day.

With some trepidation about moving things back on topic, I'd love to hear if anyone thinks Roos will change things around a bit this week? It worked against the Dees but hasn't since. Anyone got any ideas?

I asked Shaw the other night if he liked playing forward and he said he loved it but didn't know if he'd stay there. And TDL is back this week so we have another shot on goal. Any other position juggling you can see to get some of the slugs moving?
