What a great day at the footy. A great game to watch, with some fabulous individual performances...most notably, Jack, O'Keefe, Goodes, Grundy..even old man Kirk got plenty of it (looked like he was playing CHF for a while...as Cometti would say..."that's ambitious"). And of course one of the great moments of the year from Lewis Jetta, he never shirked from having shots, even under the intense scrutiny he found himself...many would of.
Only negative I saw was Malceski, his kicking was atrocious all day, and he avoids a lot of contests.
Whenever you find yourself on the side of the majority, it's time to pause and reflect... MT

TDL, White and Jetta in the forward line would be very hard to match up with and play against - so unpredictable and fast (yes, I have seen Jesse move very fast).

Keiren played a blinder but I think he might be competing long term with Dan as our premier midfielder. Both are so good and such a good look for our future.

Jetta talking us through. He's a funny boy - so shy but also just a confident kid. Spida asked him at the AM "why, when you are running straight at the goal, did you decide to run sideways and go the banana?" and Jets replied: "Well nothing else had worked so I thought I better do something different this time."

Great game to watch, myself and other swans supporters went nuts at the pub when Jetta got his goal. What was also fantastic was all the neutral supporters at the pub congratulating and being very happy for Jetta after he got his first goal. Now lets go to Subi and smash those Dockers.

Just on a side note, did anyone else notice that the first score of the day didnt register, not on the channel 10 coverage anyway. I could have sworn Malceski got a behind very early in 1st quarter and it never came up on the scoreboard, it was the first score of the game. Anyone else notice this?

Wasn't a behind. It went out of bounds.

...in a few year's time?? I might be biased, but I think he's pretty much there now. He certainly was the best midfielder for either team on Saturday. When he puts in that performance consistently for 9 out of 10 weeks, I think that there will be no doubt.

But...I don't think Hanners will let him stay on the perch for too long. As a pair, they are going to be formidable next year.

To be fair to Mal, he had the hard tag on him from one of the Hawks players - perhaps Young or Birchall? - so that even the few possessions he did get thru the centre were under extreme pressure. Might be something he'll need to get used to, but we're fortunate that, unlike the Hawks with Hodge, we have other running HBFs to step up. I thought that was Mattner's and Shaw's best "attacking defender" game for a number of weeks - I thought both those guys were under pressure to keep their place, but they bought themselves some time.

                    That would explain it then.

Yes, he did. I noticed it while watching the replay.

                      So much for that theory!

Who says they have to compete? Jack and Hanners, our answer to Judd and Cousins respectively; a quick, tough, in/out clearance merchant that can really hit you where it hurts in Jack, and a silky, gut-running accumulator with elite endurance that loves sending it inside 50 in Hanners.

After watching the replay for the third time , it was actually in the 2nd quarter not the second half.

It's a truly good win that leaves the opposition in public disarray.
