SCG was amazing last night and a sold out final there would be the best. Oh well.

There is a real window of opportunity for the AFL even this week to start the groundwork to properly market the Homebush final on the first week of September, even before such a game becomes officialComment

If we do beat Brisbane and win our first final, we'll almost certainly play the Dogs again at the MCG in the semi-final and we'd be half a chance to win that. In that case I will be barracking hard for St. Kilda to upset Geelong in Week 1 of the finals so we end up in their half of the draw should we make it to a prelim, and hope Collingwood and Geelong knock each other out in the other prelim. *exits fantasy land*Comment

Finish sixth and win our first final and we play the loser of Geelong v St Kilda
Most likely it's the Hawthorn, Western Bulldogs and Collingwood combo.
As I said at the start of the year, finals and a win at home would be about right for this year. Along with moving the team forward which we have.

My prediction is that we'll be playing Carlton at ANZ on Saturday night, 4 September. We'll then play the Dogs in Melb in a SF, then onto a preliminary final against Geelong. The end.Last edited by cruiser; 22 August 2010, 09:10 PM.Occupational hazards:
I don't eat animals since discovering this ability. I used to. But one day the lamb I was eating came through to me and ever since then I haven't been able to eat meat.Comment

ABC radio says pies will play sat night. If Swans and Freo finish 5th and 6th they will play fri night and Sat arvo, BUT only speculation on their part.Comment

Sure was, capped off a great weekend in making the trip up. The weather was perfect and I must admit I was actually quite surprised with the passion of the swans supporters in sydney, I was under the impression for some, not all of course, it was like going to a 'party' at a game at the SCG, with not really a care about the game itself, like a social thing, but I was very wrong. The atmosphere was fantastic and the level of support was great and would of surely helped the team. I agree, we should move heaven and earth to get a final there, because if the other night is anything to go by, then that would be a MASSIVE advantage for us!Comment

If Pies v Dogs is Sunday that would mean the loser of the Pies v Dogs game would play the Saturday night the following week while the other game (loser Saints v Cats v whoever) would be the Friday night.
So it seems to suggest the two elimination games will be Friday and Saturday nights while the qualifying finals are the day games. That makes sense considering the Friday night game this week. I seem to recall Swans v Dockers in 06 was Friday night at Homebush in front of a pretty big crowd. Could be worse options.
Homebush isn't booked for NRL that weekend btw.Last edited by Doctor; 23 August 2010, 01:52 PM.Today's a draft of your epitaphComment
