Very tough decision. I'd play both but there's no-one who deserves to get dropped.
Braddy and McGlynn are back v Dogs!! - (TEAM NAMED)

We won't get the truth until the off season when we find out Bulldog has a broken back, Jetstar a prosthetic arm, Jesse's brain had to be removed mid season, Jude qualifies for the special Olympics and our Braddy is an Avatar while the old Lion's hero is in a bed on the Sunshine Coast and really only went missing when stolen by the Gold Coast selectors mid season.Comment

It's quite simple. If nobody deserves to get dropped ,don't drop anybody.Stay with a winning team and Bradshaw has to wait his turn finals or not. Roosey was prepared to stay with a losing team earlier in the season, surely he will stay with a winning team.Dropping someone who doesn't deserve it gives everybody a bad feeling. Stay with the team that beat Carlton. It will beat the Dogs! Change it and I am not so sure it can beat the Dogs. Its all about playing as one with high morale and its a highly tuned thing, hard to get right! We got it now so don't mess with it.Comment

I kind of agree but Braddy was the leading goal kicker earlier in the year and has only missed games because of an injury, not because of poor form. He is an out and out goal scorer, he's played in Premiership winning teams and you only have to be at training to see the genuine quality this guy is made of. The facts are he has the ability to kick 5+ and has done before on many occasions. I'm sure the players are aware of his seniority in the team. He comes in if ready.

negative, you have to pick the best 22 who are available and both mcglynn and bradshaw are in that it will be unfortunate for whoever gets dropped but thats the nature of the game. I hope its not jetta, white or tdlComment

If he does play I wish him well and hope he kicks a bag of goals but surely the coaches will work out a scheme for Whitey to run with Bradshaws man (eg Lake) when he goes up the field and Bradshaw then goes to Whitey's man. Otherwise he will be blown out by quartertime but we can't afford Lake to run unattended.I feel the Dogs tactic will be to run him off his feet and take him away from the goals.Comment

I agree he is a Champion but you know that match fitness only comes with playing in the "A" team and we run a risk playing him straight into the cauldron of an AFL final. Finals history suggests that playing anyone not 100% fit is a risk and I am not 100% sure about his knee. I am glad the selectors have got this problem as it is ultimately a gamble.I remember The Crows not playing Modra in a GF and putting in a 1/2 back flanker Ellen? who kicked 5 in a winning GF team!

I agree that you don't want too many underdone blokes but given he's played two reserves games, I think it's time to roll the dice on him.Bloods

Very true. That's the big danger. My problem is that it seems they might be leaving it up to Braddy to suggest how he feels. I'm sure he wants to play : )
I do think though that if we are going to play him it has to be now. I know this sounds crazy I guess but I do think he's an important cog in the machine and this weekend is the game to test it in, even if we end up having to carry him. I guess the Coaching staff believe he is important as well. Will be interesting if he comes in to see how it effects TDL's game. You find that with Braddy in he becomes the No.1 target, ala Bazza. TDL has really benefited from crumbing up around Jesse's contests and no doubt he's been important for us the last few weeks. I'd hate to see him played out of the game. I'm sure he'll find his usual space though and present well enough to take a few marks. Hopefully we get this all right : )

I bet they'd like to. But I'm pretty sure that, if Braddy plays, he'll be prowling around the goal square - and it'd be suicide for the Dogs to leave him there unattended (so his tagger can run where he likes - preferably to the bench in tears). We saw how well our forward setup worked earlier in the season with Braddy marking in the F50 and Jesse creating spills mopped up by the smalls - and TDL now makes our smalls that much more dangerous.Last edited by Go Swannies; 8 September 2010, 12:05 PM.Comment
