ladies and gents does anyone know what the status is for representing NSW ACT rams these days

ie can you have left school and be 18 years of age and still qualify ?

i noticed there is a kid born in 1995 December which doesnt mean he is not at school but just wondered

I think in TAC cup teams are allowed to play one over age player???

P.S Shifter gave Isaac Heeney a big wrap on his twitter feed on the weekend...

Jack steele was in the 2013 draft ???? and Nanny and Aliir were in the 2012 and 2013 so i suppose that answers my question

        2013 draft prospect: Jack Steele - AFL.com.au

        .....................

i wonder where Abe Davis is at - 193cm and 90kg now and I cant believe that Heeney is now 186cm and 82kg - what a massive change for a fairly skinny kid a couple of seasons a go.

will be fascinating to see if we try and pick up Abe, Heeney and Foote or if some or all need to do another year in the Sydney Premier Comp or Melb / SANFL

not sure if Callum Mills has another year to go as he is 1997 ??

QBE Sydney Swans Academy player Callum Mills was one of the stars of the NSW/ACT Rams’ recent win at the AFL Under-16 National Championships

or other kids from academies in the same year as Abe and co

        ie

Joshua Barty, Joel Bottin-Noonan, Abe Davis, Michael Dickson, Harry Dobson, Jordan Foote, Nicholas Foster, Harrison Green, Isaac Heeney, Tyler Roos, Vahid Roser, Luke Trowell, Bradley Watson, Oliver Wetzlar

Throughout this hot scorching week many teams will be getting back into pre-season training after a short break over the New Year. With less then ten weeks now before the season starts many teams and players will be lifting their intensity on the track to be at optimum fitness for Round 1. As the season is almost upon us, it?s time to take a look at ten of the best bottom age players from around the country that will catch your eye over the next year as they enter the main stage of elite U/18 competition.

          January | 2014 | Mad Monday Show

Callum Mills (North Sydney/ Swans Academy)

In the next couple of years there appears to be some strong talent coming out of NSW, with none better then Callum Mills. A Sydney Swans academy member, Mills shows good leadership on and off the field and was the captain of NSW/ACT division 2 winning side at the 2013 U/16 national championships. Known for his hard ?gut? running and strong contested ball winning, Mills is the prototype Sydney Swans player when they get first dibs at drafting him in the 2015 draft. Mills is more then a ?in and under? midfielder however with some polish to go forward and kick goals that can be damaging and earned him the MVP for NSW as well as Division 2 Best player at the U/16 Champs. A level 1 AIS/AFL Academy Member Mills should flourish again in the Swans Academy getting the chance to play in the NEAFL against more mature male bodies and learn the professional ways of an AFL club.

          Joshua Dunkley (Sale/Gippsland Power)

Dunkley son of past AFL player Andrew (217 games ? Sydney) is a well-built midfielder who can win his own contested football and be damaging in the clearances. At age 15 he played in senior premiership with Sale and can play with the more mature bodies. Dunkley an AIS/AFL Academy member should fit nicely into this years Gippsland TAC Cup team playing a key role through the midfield and may be a chance to represent Vic Country at the U/18 Championships.

I thought I heard or read somewhere that there is a chance that this is not so much the case anymore. Can anyone verify this?

Josh Dunkley's Instagram account suggests he still passionately supports the Swans.

Roos now playing TAC cup with Sandringham has been in the goal scorers, possible FS pick??
Barty with Claremont colts in the WAFL, stats on wafl website, appears to be playing in the backs
Both appear to have improved since leaving the academy , interesting to see if added to RAMs squad in June.

The Roos boy will be highly rated given he has already played in an AFL premiership

Roos played over 200 games for Fitzroy, and less than 100 for the Swans.

If Roos kid does make it, as a F/S selection...Wouldn't that be to the Lions, not the Swans?

Foote and Heeney best for Rams vs Bushrangers today, lost narrowly I think
