A question re: ANZ Stadium - is the three matches a year deal with the Swans or with the AFL? If it's with the AFL, we'll probably only have to play two games a year there from 2012 (one blockbuster game and the derby, while GWS also play a blockbuster for the third). If it's with the Swans, obviously we're stuck with it.
It's done with the Swans and not the AFL. Locked in for a few more years yet. Look they can make it more interesting by bringing the zombie lepers back from the Ben Hur production. They can pounce and eat good opposition players just like they did to Jesus in the play. Ate the bloody cross as well!!!!!!!!!

Well, it is looking like my source got his round 1 draw tip wrong! Looking more likely it will be Melbourne v Sydney at MCG... great for our Melbourne members to have a round 1 game at the MCG!
        Swannies for life!

Collingwood flies flag in season opener | Adelaide Now

from the journalistic brilliance that is Adelaidenow it would appear that we're playing Melbourne in Sydney and not in Melbourne

I'd prefer it to be in Melbourne, as I don't really want to play melbourne at ANZ.... unless of course we can open a season for once with a Home game at the SCG.

Isn't ANZ reserved for blockbuster games? I'm pretty sure Melbourne doesn't qualify for "blockbuster" status just yet.

I'm pretty sure the problem in the past has been with the SCG Trust not making the ground available until April which was when the footy season used to start.

I think the AFL have woken up to the fact that "blockbuster" cannot be automatically allocated to ANZ because not all the team that BlockBusted the previous year were up to speed in the next year. We have had some pretty crap combos in the last two years that left the stadium rattling.

Thank God we're not playing StKilda in Round 1 again, not that I dont think we can beat them, I was just starting to think it was going to be a permanent thing. How many times have we played them in round 1? Quite a few me thinks. Just like the change is all.

Is it certain that its going to be played at ANZ? I would have thought this definately would have been played at SCG?

Maybe we'll play someone other than Brisbane to close out the year as well.

It's a 10 minute walk from Shaggers Crest (Rooty Hill) station. Buses will also run from Shaggers Crest.
Trip from Central takes approximately 30-40 minutes (depending on the amount of stops).
