BEVAN - Was best afield with Bolts for mind. Great forward pressure, made everything a contest and kicked an important goal. His last three games for the Swans have been super impressive. Hope he doesn't revert back to the dark days

Paul Roos (On the Couch last night) had high praise for Jude in the game. He went on to say that Jude has become better in the last 3 years.

Poor Gerard introduced the game as being played at AAMI Park. They bagged the ground for the way the ground looked rather than how it played. Also mentioned the small crowd.

They also showed how soft the free kick Jude got that lead to the winning goal. It wasn't for holding the ball but for incorrect disposal. The replay clearly showed that the ball had been disposed of correctly but appears the umpire's view was obstructed. Just shows how lucky we were that Marty's tackle wasn't on the same end of the ground as we would have been looking at a loss right now.
In memory of my little Staffy - Dicey, 17.06.2005 to 1.12.2011- I'll miss you mate.

i still reckon if u slow it down he drops the ball then punches it with the same hand as its falling. Problem for hardingham was he ran back about 15 metres.

I listened to Geischen on SEN this morning and the umpire fraternity believes the ump got it right.

Hardingham had prior opportunity, so when he was tackled he must dispose of the ball CORRECTLY, by hand or foot. According to the Geisch, the ball bobbled in the tackle and left Hardingham's hands, even though it was only a very short distance, but enough to be deemed incorrect disposal.

The underlying thing is if there was no prior opportunity, it was play on, but the prior opportunity made it not negotiable, it must be kicked or handballed correctly, no exceptions.

I await tomorrows replay with interest...

sounds like what i thought in slow motion, bobbles because he hits with the same hand that dropped it.

I thought the one he was stiff on was earlier- when called holding the ball tho he did dive on it.

[QUOTE I really liked Smiths game, he is a fabulous player, who makes excellent decisions with excellent skill, consistently.

Was at the game and really noticed how poor a kick smith is as previously mentioned - watched the reply and havent changed my mind I think his hands are ok but IMHO "excellent" skills - no but he is he's ok as a tagger.

              Cheers

If you just went on kicking at that game you'd equally conclude that Goodes is a crap kick who constantly turns the ball over. So perhaps you'd need to watch over a few weeks and I think that, overall, Smith will come to be "ok as a tagger" the way Crouch and Kirk were.

Macca was probably anxious, and Adam often gets het up, so someone out there needs to remind the boys that they can play and it is unlikely that Horse is going to do anything different to Roosy, whose mantra was "I am not going to pull you off the ground because of mistakes, keep going".

Actually its like they believed the Bombers publicity. Fortunately Jude's blood and guts determination hasn't deteriorated. And it looks like Benny is going to be his successor in this attribute. Bless them both. I believe that with this particular win that the Bloods ethos will remain in tact. They can believe in it now on another level.

This is going to be an interesting transition year isn't it.
There was a moment in the 4th quarter when we were down by a point and Jetta made a run down the right hand side, got inside 50 and centred it to Goodes, who was being marked by 2 Bombers and failed to take the mark. Jetta had to run another couple of steps and take the shot. Even if he'd missed the goal a point would have levelled it up. It was a clear sign to us that he's down on confidence, which is a shame cos we all love him and want him to succeed.

Having said that, he has to play this week in Perth considering the size of the ground and the current temperature over there. We're also going to have to play Seaby or Pyke (I'd go with Pyke - he's quicker, plus I'm a fan).

I somehow managed to download and watch that game without learning of the result for the first time in obout 4 years.

What a game. Stoked for the result and the effort shown. Reality is (without having read the rest of the thread) we have ALOT of young players and we managed to come over the top of a team with alot going for it.

Sam Reid...after 3 games starting to show the skills most stars display after 50 games.

Adam Goodes, the first 2 games seem a reflection of last year. more impact in the midfield than up forward.

                      Jude Bolton for FF?

White did some good things, but stiull not sold.
The eternal connundrum "what happens when an unstoppable force meets an immovable object" was finally solved when David Hasselhoff punched himself in the face.
