I knew him as a gentle young man, I cannot say for sure the reasons for his decline
We watched him fade before our very eyes, and years before his time -

I am so amazingly excited about this, Nipper played his junior footy at the same club I did (albeit just one or two years after me!)- I think this is the first AFL game for someone from the club since Dion Myles? Great, great stuff.I knew him as a gentle young man, I cannot say for sure the reasons for his decline

OMG, did you have to? I'd just about banished Dion Myles from all memory.
My lasting memory of Myles was Brad Pearce kicking 6 or 7 on him at Princes Park in the late 90's. It wasn't nice.
As for Nipper, what you will get is a ferocious attack on the ball, a ferocious attack on the man (he's an excellent tackler) and a pretty damn good overhead mark. You won't get super silky skills however, so I'll be watching with immense interest as well. I just hope he doesn't get crucified if he makes a few clangers as he will no doubt be nervous and one's skills rarely improve under pressure.
Well done to the club for pushing these blokes thru, but as I said when AJ got the nod, I wonder how LJ must be feeling?Driver of the Dan Hannebery bandwagon....all aboard. 4th April 09Comment
