If all 3 of them are forced outs, I'd replace them with Jesse White, Luke Parker and Andrejs Everitt.

Play Jesse at FF and put Everitt up there as well in the pocket. Parker in the middle and at HF. LRT plays down back one on Dawes, Grundy plays on Cloke and Seaby is lucky to stay in as our 2nd ruck.

      Out: Seaby, McVeigh, LRT, Kenelley
      In: Pyke, Johnson, White, Parker

It would need some field re-arranging and it is improbable, but I think at the moment with Kenelley and McVeigh out of form this is the best team.

I do think tadgh's position should be seriously looked at. I think he is looking really slow and is getting caught at least once per match coming out of defense. The bit when Murphy motored around him in the first quarter was like watching a ruck man defend a midfielder.

Other than that the defense played reasonably well. No individual Carlton forward dominated and most of our defenders at least broke even.

the midfield was beaten o the day. No massive disgrace there but the selections of lrt seaby and mummy in the one team was a classic non selection - gutless non decision making. The decision needed to be made to play one ruck and one part timer or two rucks. The 2.5 ruck man strategy was brainless and the Carlton half backs just had a field day.

The forward line needs white and tdl in it. I'm sick of the anti white brigade - maybe he won't pull marks down against the blues but he simply couldn't be any worse than what we have and is probably likely to be much better.

Bring Jesse in, I get the remotely clever thinking of running with 2 rucks then LRT for the last quarter but I can't help but think that White who, for all his failings, actually plays as a target forward as opposed to an opportunistic floater into the forward line would have helped a little. Maybe give Andrejs or LJ a run somewhere as well.
I knew him as a gentle young man, I cannot say for sure the reasons for his decline
We watched him fade before our very eyes, and years before his time

I do believe that the forward structure has suffered by not having Jarred Moore in the team.

Another bonus of White is his set shot accuracy, something we need desperately at the moment

I am tending to agree.........Kennelly looks very slow and had a bit of a shocka two weeks in a row................now that is partly due to our backline not having Shaw or Mal to run off our man markers etc and Johnson evolving quickly to be more of a play maker.....its a decent change to adjust too.

I would be very tempted to give Mal his spot next week and have Kennelly come off the bench...........Mals delivery against a tough team like the Pies will be critical

Don't think O'keefe will be suspended.
I think Mummy will be penalised for his strength. The one thing the commentators got right is that it is the luck of the how the player lands in a strong tackle and it doesn't look good for Mummy. Even though he was ineffective today it would be good for him to string games together because we all know he will come good.

LRT to move into defence for Richards (if he is out), Jesse for Mummy (if suspended), Sumner for Kennelly, TDL for Mcveigh (with McGlynn and Jack sharing time in middle for McVeigh and TDL staying in forward line).

Reminds me of one of my all-time favourite graffitis.
On the notice board outside the Anglican Church in Hawthorn: "What would you do if Jesus came to Hawthorn?"
Written underneath: "Move Peter Hudson to centre half forward."
He reminds him of the guys, close-set, slow, and never rattled, who were play-makers on the team. (John Updike, seeing Josh Kennedy in a crystal ball)

The whole team is too defensive.

TDL must come in. Time for White to come back as well. LJ deserves another spot.

Goodes needs to play midfield. He is a not a great foward. LRT to play 2nd ruck.

Out: Mumford (susp), McVeigh (replaced with Goodes in middle), Kennelly (old, slow and we already have Marty and Eski off HB)

Not yet, but it means we can be bold and more courageous and gamble a bit. The priority is to get the forward structure right. If we still lose, we are still rebuilding for a better future, but if we win, that's great.
