I think the reason that Luke has not been as much this year is not due to form or capability - I feel that is more to do with matchups

Luke is so similar to Bolts etc that we have too many slower hard in and unders at the moment which makes it tricky for outside matchups

Luke also reminds me alot of

Yep. I thought his decline in pace may have been due to the knee, but a dodgy groin would more than explain it.

Malceski being out due to injury has saved Kennellys spot for mine, another effort like the last couple of weeks and if Mal is fit next week i can see the 2 doing a straight swap.

Jetta being included is stagering and a couple of ressies players could be rightly afronted by his selection over them.Yes it may be for matchups but guys like Sumner and Gordan could have fitted the role especially seeming he's likely to be sub anyway.

Also Sub Standard implies a terrible game and it was far from that.

"Given how much of a romp it was, Jetta was very quiet. Won't be forcing his way back with games like that." Post 47 Ressies thread Liz.

"Lewis Jetta had a relatively quiet game and I'll be very surprised if he makes it back for the Adelaide clash. He spent the first half playing off halfback where he was adequate but I thought he could have run and carried it a little more. In the second half, they placed him in the centre where he didn't particularly shine. He did spot up a few players on the lead which is a good sign as his ball use has been one of my major bugbears this year". Post 60 Ressies thread Ugg.

We obviously have a different interpretation of "Sub standard'. I would expect if he had an average game he would have stood out in that game which he didn't. However it is possible the coaches saw what they wanted from him and he was the best option, who knows?

My own uneducated selecting would have had TDL, Sumner, and Nipper ahead of him until he showed a bit more.

Just checking thru our leading goal kickers for the year after round 14. McGlynn leads on 22, and Sam Reid comes in 5th on 8 goals !! Only 2 players average more than 1 goal per game - the entire list then averages less than 1 goal per game.

We will lose him if we are not careful! GWS must be interested. How is he contracted?

                        Pretty ordinary, isn't it.
But then if you look over the past couple of years, it's been about the same.

That's a fair call and I'm sure without the injuries he'd still be in the Ressies. The coaching staff looked at the match ups and balance and decided Jetta was the best option.

It does again demonstrate the incredible depth that is being created at the Swans. The 3 players mentioned all look to me as being in our best 22 in the near future. Nipper along with Parker are 2 of my favorite Ressies this year. I just love how they go about their work. Also Sumner has added a hard edge to his game and has really toughened up so he could well be a regular as well.

The future is looking pretty bright I reckon.

If Jack and Malceski were fit, then Jetta may not have made it.

The senior games Gordon played he was stationed deep in the forward line so he may not have been considered as a runner.
Meredith was the non-playing emergency (could well have been as a precaution for Eski) and thus requires a run in the reserves.
Moore I would also regard as a forward, along with TDL of course.

We've had alot of debutantes this year and he, with AJ has looked the calmest and most together...with no doubt whether they belong. From what I understand of his history another with leadership potential.

See what happens with the inclusion of all the big men.

There's 2 things that I'll be watching for:

                                1. Who plays as the second ruckman - LRT or White? If it's White it may give the opportunity for someone else to come out of the square, whether Grundy or a different midsize player....certainly seems a good game for experimentation. Or LRT with White given a decent shot at FF.

                                2. Who plays Malceski's role off the HBF. Whether AJ is athletic or fit enough or has good enough delivery to go further up the ground or if Shaw will be relieved of his usual tagging duties for a spell in the backline....or god forbid Bevo?!? Suspect it will be the obvious option.
