RIP Jesse Whites Career Part II

I started Part 1 because I had finally lost patience with him. I am now convinced that he's a spud that we all over rated and that he'll never make an impact at AFL level.

With Spangher showing some incredible prowess in the Reserves I don't see any reason for the Swans to continue trying to make Jesse into something that he clearly isn't.

Although how Spangher wasn't included in the top 6 yesterday just boggles the mind. So I don't imagine we'll see Spangher any time soon.

I thought Jesse really just played primarily as a backup ruckman last night, Al- and I thought he was fine in the role against bigger opponents. Longmire has acknowledged they'd like to run him as a permanent forward, but I think they've done that once all year (and it was the game he ended up being subbed off in)- if the coach sees him as a permanent forward you'd assume they wouldn't give up on him as a seniors player until he got a chance to have a run as a permanent forward?
I knew him as a gentle young man, I cannot say for sure the reasons for his decline
We watched him fade before our very eyes, and years before his time

I wonder what will happen to all the calls to "just leave Jesse at FF and let him develop" etc?
To all those people who waited 72 years to see a South Melbourne/Sydney Swans premiership HERE IT IS!!

Admit it Big Al, you just like Spang's strut.

I saw you at Rooty Hill at the GWS ressies game. Every time he came off, I could hear the music from Saturday Night Fever emitting from your head!

Inspred me to go out and by the satin shirt and gold medallion on that Monday. Won me over!

Spring the Spang to first grade !!!!!!!!

He's gone. Just doesn't have the footy smarts. There was a moment last week against Collingwood when he was one on one in the forward 50 and he was in perfect position to use his body and take a relatively straight forward mark, instead he got lost and gave away a free kick. This is just typical of how he plays.

He'll star in reserves and cause heartbreak in the real stuff.

P.S I was a massive wrap for him and had high hopes, but he's gone.

Highlight of the game was Jesse, in the clear, kicked the ground instead of the ball, it dribbled to a Crow who rebounded it to the other end for a goal. What a spud !!!

On last night he is clearly not a wet tracker.

I would already be having him on the trade table while he has some currency. They have been talking today on SEN about the need for a 2 pronged big man forward line as the way to go in today's game, so clubs will be on the look out. Richmond are on the look out for his type as will the Doggies given Hall is likely in his last season. GWS, Gold Coast and Port Adelaide need tall forwards. We have got plenty of space under the salary cap to go for a quality player or draft pick.

                Talk about triple facepalm.

Jesse really lacks game sense. Can't see much role for him once Mumford and Pyke return.

                Trade bait.

I say lets hang in there with him still.................we need to take the risk as we dont have other options with our game plan

If we were playing a Hawks kick 15m down the field game plan I would have TDL any day of the week........ but we kick ahead to make a new contest and advance down field..........so with that game plan we need 3 talls I believe for large parts of the game that can crash the pack

I also say persist as we will be very unlikely to pick up another big forward at Senior level for next year given we cant swap our early pic as we have to take Mitchell father and son with our top pic !

I think we did better with LRT playing second ruck and forward, although when Mummy comes back I don't think we have any choice but to put two ruckmen on the field until Mummy gets some match fitness as he has missed a few weeks now. It's odd how good White looked in that first year, but right now I'd be willing to trade him for Tippet, or some other real forward, Reid is the only one consistantly taking marks and we need at least two specialist forwards. Might be time to put LJ in there and see if he develops????? Meanwhile, Seaby at FF Mummy in the ruck, White in the ressies. If we bring in TDL then Bevan goes back and we lose part of our forward press, all important in the game now. I know TDL made that tackle last year but he isn't a great tackler. Time to try some different things and players. Spangher seems to be doing well, lets give him a run and see what happens

Jesse is another Fitzie, lots of flair can take the big grab but hardly ever does it. He runs around with lots of enthusiasm but his timing is crap & his disposal woeful. His handball gives fronm the packs that he managed to get into were all at his teammates feet. I am also frustrated, he looked so exciting but not delivering. Spangher please!

TDL has kicked 20 goals in 2 games at Resies level how many did Jesse get at that level this year & gets a game. He is woeful & TDL couldn't be any worse. Plus who said TDL would be coming in for White or Bevo, Benny has vbeen ordinary for a few games now & my nephew is a Hawks fan & he said he was like that for the Hawks, a few weeks sensational & then go missing for a month. I don't know if you have noticed but we can't produce sustained goal kicking every week. This is why we have had some very close ones this year, no forward set up that works.

Sorry Jessie but no more game time for you or Everitt. Time to try Spanger and if he does not do to much then when Pyke is fit then him in the forward/ruck job.

                              Disagree with this.
The reason his numbers have been down the last few weeks, is because he's been getting a tight tag from the oppositions best tagger...So that's what other teams think of him, and I agree.
This is precisely why McVeigh has been getting more of the pill the last few weeks...he is no longer the No.1 target of opposition.
IMO Benny is a fabulous small forward/ mid and in time will learn to fare better with taggers. In the meantime it frees up others.
Whenever you find yourself on the side of the majority, it's time to pause and reflect... MT
