Yep it was interesting to hear Roosy's comments on him today and pretty much confirmed that hes not gonna make it.

I have go to agree. Shame I had high hopes for him. With his size, speed and jump I would love have seen him smash into defenders and split open packs. I can't see him back in the firsts after his effort today.

The guy is scared of a contest for some bizarre reason, doesn't seem to understand when to lead or where to lead to, is useless if the ball hits the ground and seems to have no appetite for the contest. I am officialy now in the camp of he will never make it as an AFL player, at least not at the Swans, and I won't be sad to not see him play again. At least LRT gives a good contest, can lead, can use his body strength on a defender (i.e. Jesse needs to see how LRT worked his man for his 1st goal today), and he is really just a defender. Stick Sammy Reid at CHF, put some crumbers around him and start looking for a FF that is not Jesse White.

I like many other had high hopes for Jesse after the promise he showed in 2009 but he just hasn't improved and in all seriousness has probably gone backwards in his development. Its probably time to move him on and see what offers we could get for him. At least we'd have an extra draft pick if we did trade him

It fit perfectly, but Jesse is even bigger.

Some time ago, the SCG forced the reserves team to play their game against Queeanbeyan outside, and I took the opportunity to wander around the coaches tent. My perambulations gave me a good opportunity to take a good close look at Jesse. . . .

In the first quarter of that game his first two goals were balanced by two prolonged episodes of whinging. Q's fullback wacked him in the guts and the umpire missed it, such things happen but Jesse spent a long time complaining to the universe about it. A second incident occured in the ruck, Jesse copped an incidental whack which the umpires missed and he spent the next five minutes debating the issue with the opposition ruckman and then whining at the umpires. I was frankly embarrassed!

I think he kicked 6 in that game, which refreshed the hopes of many people, unfortunately the true indicator of his future was not the goals Jesse kicked, but his poor attitude.

I just don't get what was so insipid yesterday, I think I said in another thread that he looked to be moving quite a bit in the F50, leading and creating a bit of space. Not suggesting he was on fire at all. but I wasn't watching him and thinking "awful".

I appreciate it probably seems like mindless man-love, or purely being contrary- it's not. I sat at the ground, paid attention to the forward work and thought he was moving around quite a bit and generally was okay through the first half- in fact I thought he looked to finish the last half with a good bit of footy nouse, at the last stoppage the ball was towards the Freo end of the centre square and they had an extra man at the back of the contest- White left his man at half forward and sprinted up to man up the Freo player.
I knew him as a gentle young man, I cannot say for sure the reasons for his decline
We watched him fade before our very eyes, and years before his time

Yeah ive lost patience with White, I too have been a supporter of him for a while now but after yesterday he just seems to be disinterested, maybe he's just going though the motions till the end of the season cause he has already committed to GWS??? Its a shame cause I thought he was really going to be something at the end of 09....I could have a solution for our forward line next year....FEV, this guy has still got it, he bagged 11 goals in the VFL yesterday. We would get him for nothing and I think he would be worth a shot on a 1 year contract to see how he goes. We were prepared to have bradshaw running around next year and fev is not as old as him. Ill now prepare myself for the criticism

I was only watching on TV so fair enough, you do miss a lot. Probably the contest that annoyed me the most was in the 2nd quarter. Jesse led out and the kick to him wasn't great by any means but he could've made a contest at least. Instead, he basically just stopped and let McPharlin (I think) run back with the flight and punch it out of bounds. At the very least, he should've made him earn it but he didn't touch him or the ball.

As I said, I've been a long time supporter but just a bit sick him not knowing how to use his body and the 5-6 possession games with 0 goals.

What stood out for me was in the last when Hanners came flying through crashed the pack and nearly marked in front of goal. I know Jesse wasn't out there but that is his job, and what he should be doing all the time. Hanners would be better at FF than White.

Not ashamed to say I've never been a fan and never will. Can't stand blokes who don't put their body on the line and he doesn't even come close to doing that.

He needs take a close look at the way J Brown thows his body around (both comparable in size, but not anything else).

Nevertheless, it wasn't Jesse's fault yesterday. He shouldn't have been out there, in the first instance. The selectors can take the blame on that one.
