    Whoops!

Still, it was a fairly cluey thing to do.
I knew him as a gentle young man, I cannot say for sure the reasons for his decline
We watched him fade before our very eyes, and years before his time

Its a shame cause I thought he was really going to be something at the end of 09....I could have a solution for our forward line next year....FEV, this guy has still got it, he bagged 11 goals in the VFL yesterday. We would get him for nothing and I think he would be worth a shot on a 1 year contract to see how he goes. We were prepared to have bradshaw running around next year and fev is not as old as him. Ill now prepare myself for the criticism
Right now and how I am feeling Fev sounds like a dam good idea. I can't believe I said that! He would need to learn to play in the backlines first though and get defensive pressure happening. No, it would not work!!!! No!!!!

Nevertheless, it wasn't Jesse's fault yesterday. He shouldn't have been out there, in the first instance. The selectors can take the blame on that one.
Given that LJ and Spangher are injured, you're probably being a bit hard on the selectors ... about the only other option would be Everitt and he's more of a waste of space even than Jesse.

To be fair to Everitt, he was on two crutches, so probably had a crap game last week because he was injured.....

And to befair to Jesse, I want to love him, but he has the turning circle of the Queen Mary, and that cannot be workable in a 360 game.

Yes, a little bit harsh on the selectors. However, we probably would have been better with Seaby alongside LRT, instead of White. Or even another small forward, cosidering the conditions.

Was it just me that thought that Jetta was subbed in too late? I thought at the time we needed him in there earlier to help combat the run of Freo.... I would have liked him to have been thrown in there at half time or closely thereafter when it was clear that Jesse wasn't having an impact on the game.

I wish. He was listed as 3-5 weeks away last Tuesday; see what tomorrow's injury list looks like. Then he'll need some game time. So, he'll either do us proud in finals or come good next season.

Of all the excuses given for his poor showing this year the one that confounded me was being 'forced' to play the second ruckman role, as if the switch midgame from forward to ruck could have such a harmful effect that it made him the ineffective player that we've become accustomed to. Well LRT kicked three goals on the weekend to go with his three against brisbane in this exact same role. It only highlights the speciousness of this argument and those defenders are really grasping at straws

there may be hope for him yet but it sure ain't as a tall forward. Perhaps time for a Leo Barry type transition from frustrating forward to effective Backman

He needs some angry pills, someone tell his girlfriend to make him do ALL the washing/cooking/cleaning at home... at least until he plays hard enough to warrant putting his guernsey through the "heavy duty" cycle.

I don't think he has a football brain.

Have you ever played much footy as a ruckman? It's relatively tiring, particuarly giving up an inch or two, and I thought physically did seem to take its toll on him- I do think that would impact on your ability to play other positions.

Lewis did very well in both of those games, and I think has generally done quite well all year in the role. From memory he didn't kick all those goals as a traditional lead/mark kind of forward, more making great use of reading the flight of the ball- you'd expect that of someone who has played as many games as he has as a defender.
