I also thought, having been brought into this frankly tiresome thread, that I should respond. I had chosen to opt out prior to this as it didn't seem to be of much interest to me as it didn't really concern the team or our upcoming games. I also could see through the tone of the comments that a few people were getting a little, shall we say, narky.
Please leave me out of what ever issues you may be having with others if you only request my input so you can twist my words for your own purposes.
I also agree with Royboy and Jewels' most recent posts, however I really like this site and will try to continue to use it as a great source of information, enlightening conversation, and most of all friendship and cameraderie under the red and white banner.Comment

I don't know what your point is, or what you're trying to prove, but you obviously didn't get the gist of my post. I like to consider myself as a good communicator, especially in written form, however it seems like my well thought out and reasonable response was misconstrued.

I'm the first one to admit I was wrong. I didn't think this bloke could win a premiership. I was also worried about an out of date game plan as it was at the time. In retrospect I can see what he has been doing. He has been trying to bring the senior players along with him and get them to try a new game plan. Congratulations John Longmire you have my admiration for sticking with a long term plan.Comment

They have overcome the highly fancied Hawks in brilliant style. Sydney the 2012 Premiers - Gerard Whately ABC

But in saying that we have a very good list you also have to put it together and John Longmire and the coaches have done just that. I admire him because at the end of last season he sat down and recognized there were changes that needed to be made;
1) He changed Blakey from Forward Coach ( a position I thought him wrong for at the time) to Backs Coach
2)He brought in Henry Playfair as Forwards Coach which was a very good move and who instituted specialist training with the likes of Nick Davis
3)He moved Stuey Dew to Mids Coach from the Forward Role.
4) He instituted possession to position training regimes
5) He made goal kicking practice a priority
6) He instilled a psychology in the players that they believe they can beat anyone!
Yes I think he has been a success and all the others have too. But in the end a premiership is what counts and that is the real test yet to come this year or next. I think he will pass that one too just quietly. I think he is evolving a game that is not quite right even yet. I think he is evolving a game for the players we have recruited and in years to come this side may even be the Sydney version of the Lions of the early Naughties.Comment

I will always fess up if wrong Al. In saying that at the time we were not traveling that well and it was not Longmire so much as a succession as such. I am pleased with job done by Kinnear Beetson (I hope I have the spelling right) and the recruiting department. The list is sensational!

No I'm not leaving because I love John Longmire as he did away with Roos' boring game plan and brought the passion back into the Club.Nothing like a good light bulb moment.Comment
