Instead of a boycott Swans fans should rally and turn up en masse. Signs/banners/indiscriminate booing of the umpires ect will get the message across that we are not over it and were not letting them get away without scrutiny. The passion and voice of the crowd on Sunday was one of the positives out of the game for me. The members stand was rocking and we were certainly at our rowdy best.

The Geisch is a fool. How dare he not respond to the criticism properly. He lacks credibility and professionalism when he ignores his staff's incompetence. I'm seriously disgusted about the way our club has been treated and as much as I'd love a big turn out on Saturday you can almost guarantee a small crowd. They'll be very few people who showed up to sunday's game (who aren't as passionate as us) who'll want to fork out another 30 dollars to see a game they know might be decided by the whistle.

Rant over, but my anger still remains.

Really? Yes, I was angry on Sunday and I came home angry after the game. It's Tuesday night now, I have moved on. Looking forward to Saturday. I suggest a few of us move on to.

If the AFL thinks that they can waltz into Western Sydney and have Aussie Rules take over just because they're there then they need a serious reality check.

Rugby League has very strict refereeing rules. Sure the odd forward pass gets missed and a try go unsighted but fans don't stand there looking at each other, scratching their heads saying "what was that free kick for" . The AFL should realise that is why rugby league supporters call it "Aussie No Rules". Poor umpiring will kill the game out west because people will walk away saying "what was that about".

Sunday's game would have been used by pro league people as to why not to follow AFL. That is the biggest failure of AFL - inconsistency in umpiring. It will kill the game faster than anything else. People don't want to sit there to watch injustice.

Boycotting next Saturday probably does more damage than good. However, a good constructive protest would be good.

I'm over this now. If you want real pain, go to the Dentist and have half your mouth scaled as I did today. Much more painful than umpiring decisions.

Haha I was completely calm yesterday and early on today. It was the Geisch and his @@@@ty response who's ignited it all again.

Feel the same way. Will hurt the club, but we have so few ways to get the AFL to pull its head out of its arse, what else can we do?

The AFL is never wrong. It is insulting in the extreme that they have trotted Gieschen out to tell 20 odd thousand people at the ground and however many more around the nation that we were all imagining it. If they want to believe all is well and good, well let them think so - but when they struggle to get anyone to turn up next week, next month, next year, they might finally see the reality is quite different.

Does anyone seriously believe we are regarded by them with anything other than utter contempt? Time to start returning the feeling I reckon.

he's the only one in Australia who is. Apart from Ray I guess.

The only positive (and it is a small one) is that Ray was worked over like a wind up toy by Ballantyne - who although incredibly annoying and frustrating to anyone other than Freo fans - knew just how to get the best out of Ray.

Something for Bubbles (maybe that should be his new nickname, since the Giesch finds him bubbly) to think about next time he races the whistle to his mouth to pay frees to someone who is well known as a 'niggling player'.

Pleased that we got Mr Chamberlin in a home and away games, and now we need to pray we don't get him again this year or the finals (assumption, we make it)

With luck we we don't the dirty little grub till next year.. and I hope he retires first!

We don't need the game ruined by this type of over officious umpiring! (Had to delete the word that preceded umpiring...)

Still not happy with the standard of umpiring from the weekend! (hope I get better for this weekend soon)

The game, from an entertainment / contest point of view is not about them. Nothing will change, however, while their boss thinks they are part of the entertainment.
Spot on liz! ... it scares me to think that the boss of the umpires is so out of touch with reality!

... since Dopey's umpiring failed to maintain a high standard, his comments are tantamount to a suggestion that incompetence is acceptable so long as the umpire shows some personality!!!!

The only good umpire is the one that nobody notices throughout the game ... the others are usually never have beens with small mans' syndrome and the obvious chip on their shoulder ... hmmm ... sound familiar!

In fairness, someone was stupid enough to give them their own "appreciation round", and they were stupid enough to think that it was sincere!!!

Chamberlain, 34, is rated as an outstanding decision-maker by AFL House, but is also renowned for his colourful interaction with players and in-your-face theatrics.

He is still in the mix for another Grand Final berth, and was yesterday given the tick for a contentious decision against Swan Heath Grundy at the SCG on Sunday, but his bosses prefer last season's more low-key style.

What a load of tripe, apparently his decision making is great its how he explains the decisions thats poor.

Well that will do me! I thought Geischen was just avoiding commenting on any of the decisions he couldnt at least defend in some way when he chose the 4 he looked at yesterday, but in this article he actually says that Grundy holding onto Ballantyne's shirt after the the little sniper went after Grundy was worth a bonus 6 points! I shouldnt have watched Geischen, even thou I knew what was coming it riled me up again. BTW, do we know how to get hold of the little wimp that puts the questions to Geischen? Or is he just there as an AFL body to make it look like its not just a cover up each week?

As for BT making Chamberlain a star, he called the first few frees soft, etc but must have got the call from the AFL to tone it down on the refs, because he shut Roos & one of the other commentators down real quick when they started to fire up about poor decisions. I bet he comes out in Chamberlains defence on Thursday night - what a muppet he is.

100% correct Bas, NRL supporters will go mad for weeks over 1 missed forward pass in a game and they love the rules to be crystal clear - by far the biggest hurdle for the AFL in battle for NRL hearts & minds is the lack of clarity & consistency with interpretations from umpires / rule makers.

                              Vast majority???
Does that include the two that Roosey picked out that weren't free kicks at all?
