Those last 2 should be the only definites to be dropped IMO. I think Jetta and Meredith might be the 2 worst players in the league when it comes to manning up. Houli just jogged down the field and neither of them could get anywhere near him. It was truly disgusting.
Mind you it didn't help the backs that the forwards & mids were leaving their players to play Longmire's forward press that hasn't worked all year so he decides to use it again, really bright. So the backs were being caught one on one or worse because the Tiges got an overlap. they broke us open far too often because our tackling was @@@@ & our game plan worse.

agree with all comments, just arrived home, I have even sent an email to swans media group, I know it will just be bined as junk mail but I had to get It off my chest. Second one for thed day with Scotty Palmers puchlines in todays Sunday Sun that North Melb want to play us in Hobart with the Sydney to Hobart billing on todays performance thats at least a game I wont have to bear. Back to today need a lot of changes promote the youngsters and Seaby I cant agree with comments on Mumford since he returned he hasnt won too many from the centre bounce. Bring back Seaby. Johnson needs a break what a disgraceful try for goal. McGlyyn Jetta Keneely Mattner Grundy both kick poorly out of defence. Teddy tried hard as did kennedy not muh else though. Longmire needs to change his coaching as we need something else in the box. Oh why go on I ready to cry, hope we miss the 8.

          That totally sucked.

Positive: at least I was cosy in front of the heater at home.

Kick long down the wing to reid, rinse and repeat.

So frustrating to sit and watch, when you can see players clear in the middle.

            Drop: Jetta+Kennelly.
In: a heart beat+Rohan, Spangher, Johnston if fit.

            Parker a full game.

Mummy is clearly not right in his ruckwork? Knee holding him down?

An effective Plan B for Longmire, and some heart from a few blokes. Goodes body language was back to it's old pouty best.

Lots more, to ashamed and fiery to continue on. And I have dozens of texts to ignore.

Bring on 2012, cause we are dead in the water and can only make up the numbers now if we make it.

We will get flogged in the finals because we have no real forward set up & no fast exciting game plan to break the game apart. We were doing stuff like that with Jetts but today we were so defensive the game plan didn't suit his run on style. Don't drop Jetts drop the coach

His work off the ball and on opponents isn't up to scratch. Send him back to the 2's.

Just looking at the ladder and fixtures. We have Saints, Geelong, Lions. I'm confident of only the last and after today, not even that.

Freo have North, Pies, Dogs. Tough run for them. If they win next week and we lose, we slip to ninth.

                    North have Freo, Saints, Tigers.

I'd say it's basically us versus Freo for 8th and 9th.

No structure coming out of the back and no structure going into the forwards - screams coaching debacle

I can't help thinking that the players get dispirited because their game plan is old hat and as has been said in earlier posts, half the team is too slow. The seeming emphasis on defence no longer cuts it even against a young but speedy side like Richmond. You cannot lay or hold on to tackles when your opponent is streaking away from you all the time. On the lack of a forward structure - it is almost unforgiveable. How was Reid ever going to get a fair go at the ball today - no one ever seemed to be leading to spaces away from him, I couldn't tell whether LRT was supposed to be an alternative target going forward today or not. It didn't seem like it. Most of the time it seemed to be Reid and McGlynn with no one actually leading at all - which is why the others were ineffectually lobbing the ball in to the group surrounding Reid. It was indeed pathetic.

I love Adam Goodes but he didn't play a smart game today. I think he tries to lead from the front but doesn't actually know how to do it. He cannot play week after week as he did the past two games - it is physically impossible, even for him. He tries to do the spectacular or be everywhere to 'rally the troops' and it doesn't always work out. But who else is there capable of being a game breaker ??

Just back from the 'G and a skim through the thread. It was as awful as all have said. We were beaten in the midfield to start with. And I don't know why people think Richmond needs a ruckman, because they did pretty well against ours. Several times Mummy palmed it down with both hands - to nobody! Not one mid - even Kennedy - played consistent four quarter football; all of them were patchy, including Bird, Hannebery (I dubbed him Clangerbery at one stage, his disposal was so astray) and McVeigh. For a team that prides itself on winning the hard ball in close, tough, contested play, that was a disgrace. And as for falling off tackles - words fail me. We don't have run and carry any more: we have kick and hope instead.
Then we were beaten in the forward line. I don't know why we persisted with the long bomb instead of being patient, setting up until we spotted a lead or free forward, but it didn't work, and Richmond's rebounds were very effective. At one stage I felt that if we kicked once more to Goodes or Reid with two blokes on them, while Jetta was out in space, I'd jump the fence and dong the dill responsible.
We were beaten in the backline too. Not that they could do a great deal about Richmond's good delivery, but they made things worse: people have noted AJ's clanger, but Reg had a poor game by his standards. I wonder if he's carrying something. Ted worked hard and was one of our better players, but Riewoldt is hard to stop at the best of times; today the ball seemed to arrive on a cushion carried by a pageboy - not much the defender can do about that.
Overall a dispiriting and very disappointing loss.
Who to drop? I think Tadhg obviously, probably for Malceski; O'Keefe needs to think about a career after football, I think I'd give Johnston another run; I'd leave Parker in and switch Jetta to sub again.
I suspect the player we are missing most is Kirk; no-one seems to have taken on his lifting job.

He reminds him of the guys, close-set, slow, and never rattled, who were play-makers on the team. (John Updike, seeing Josh Kennedy in a crystal ball)

The biggest positive from 2011 is Sam Reid but I suspect with this coach he will go backwards or else go back to Melb in a couple of years.

I'm so over this MCG hoodoo. I wish the Swans were.

On the upside, I didn't lose my afternoon watching this abject capitulation.
