Halls side of the story

Personally I like Baz, he was great to have as a Swan, loved the way he played......but....
Barry is a drama queen, always has been.
And he doesn't handle criticism well.
He generally behaves like a little boy... Sometimes that's charming, sometimes it's not.
Remember his dummy spit after 2006, he wasn't ever going to speak to the media again because of the criticism (mostly justified) of his GF performance.
IMO, he'll get over it with time, he's just not manning up.
Deflecting blame with the little boys classic.... " what I did was wrong, but"
And at this stage it's all very predictable and very tedious.Whenever you find yourself on the side of the majority, it's time to pause and reflect... MTComment

Hindsight can be a very valuable thing. A good card to play when you need it. Great card player is Roosey.Comment

Exactly. The media keep trotting out the same stories based on a tiny passage from the book. For all we know, the rest of the book could be dedicated to his own wrongdoings. He could spend 5 chapters praising Roos and the Swans.
Hall has written ONE negative thing about Roos. ONE. Think about it for a second. ONE. Every single one of the countless articles we've read about Hall and Roos' rift, every single "quote" from Hall, they've all come from ONE passage. People seem to think Hall is beating this drum. Hall has written the one book, it is the media which keep bringing it up as if every article they write reflects a new dig.Bloods

While at the same time declaring he has respect for Horse. ie No respect for Roos.
Now he might be right on all these points, but to say the perception of his views ,of Roos and the Swans, is all media driven is wrong.
Baz has driven this boat, with plenty of help from the media, but he's the skipper.
As I said in an earlier post, IMO, his behaviour ,generally, is like that of a petulant little boy, and I reckon he'll get over it in time, just like little boys do.Last edited by ernie koala; 24 August 2011, 09:58 AM.Whenever you find yourself on the side of the majority, it's time to pause and reflect... This is all true, but let's not forget Baz has thrown fuel on this story by declaring himself a dog, questioning the bloods culture, having a go at Kirk, dislike for the swans style of footy, and ragging off about Roos and insinuating Roos was too gutless to call him or meet with him.

2. Questioning the bloods culture - What, you mean like pretty much everybody here was in 2009? I think it's fair to say that a culture can be questioned, can't you? What's wrong with pointing out a few of the flaws. I think most here felt it was getting a bit cultish, to the detriment of the team, in 2008/9.
3. Having a go at Kirk - Quotes? And complaining that he talked to the media before he talked to him is fair enough. It's not a great look for Kirk.
4. Dislike for the Swans style of footy - What's wrong with that? Again, most people on here have expressed a dislike for the Swans style of footy.
5. Ragging off about Roos, etc - Already addressed. He's allowed to be honest. Roos acted poorly.
Most of the stuff here has been incidental statements that are basically inferred from what he's saying when praising the Dogs anyway. He says something good about the Dogs, and the journos pump up the inference that the Swans were somehow inferior in this regard. He's mentioned he was happy with the supply he was getting at the Dogs, so maybe the Swans weren't that great. Etc, etc, etc. He gets fed leading questions, he answers them honestly. Fair game IMO. Doesn't mean he'll never be a Swan again, doesn't mean he harbours any resentment, he just has some opinions which when you think about them are fair enough. After all, they're opinions that have been expressed here by posters numerous times.Officially on the Reid and Sumner bandwagon!Comment

Hall can think, feel and say whatever he wants, I even think his opinion is fairly well justified in this case.
That being said, just because you may be right in your opinion doesn't mean its always a good idea to offer it publicly. I think a day will come when Hall looks back at this and regrets the way HE handled this too, but he may or may not actually admit it like roos did.
Anyway, the whole thing has been blown out of proportion as is often the case in football media.Comment

The Swans gave Baz a Premiership and his enduring forward partner in Magic; the Dogs gave him a comfy retirement home and a lot of disappointment. Of course you'll love the Doggies forever, Baz.
But can you just shut up for a while?Comment
