How good is Jude's goal kicking? His mental strength is brilliant.

I said to my wife, there is no chance in hell that he was going to miss that goal.

Great pics Nich. I think the middle one should dispel any stupid rumours about a rift between Goodes and Horse.

After 10 years of heading down the highway and driving back after a loss, I can't begin to tell you how satidsfying it is to drive back up the highway with the scarf out the car after a win.

Just finished watching 7's game day. Mark Robinson sees Mummy as the form ruckman of the competition.
He reminds him of the guys, close-set, slow, and never rattled, who were play-makers on the team. (John Updike, seeing Josh Kennedy in a crystal ball)

That is the same photo they used in the Sunday telegraph and a very touching story on what Longmire did immediately after the game.

However some little ribbot noise maker will say but look at Rhys' expression, see that proves it..................

Well after texting Big Al that we had actually got two 50's in the first qtr and they were goals as well, the shock set in- I found myself crying for most of the game, we were in front, OF GEELONG AT GEELONG!!!! - then sobbed uncontrollably for a few minutes at the fulltime siren. rang Primmy and we were still both in shock.

this confirmed that we can do it - If the boys play like this then we can give it a reall good crack.

Rhyce Shaw never gave up - he was like a bull at a gate the entire match - MUMMY - amazing - my boy Gary, got the ball rolling - McGlynn did likewise, Adam lead from the front, all the kids stood up, everyone played their part and put in 120%. I can honestly say that I have never been prouder of the lads.

So c'mon everyone get on board - it aint going to be easy, but you never know what the next 5 weeks will bring!!!
I used to be indecisive, but now I'm not so sure..................

                        Horse's eyes aren't closed.
The eternal connundrum "what happens when an unstoppable force meets an immovable object" was finally solved when David Hasselhoff punched himself in the face.

Yuri , my sentiments exactly !

And should it be Tadhg's last , what a great way to finish.

Paradoxically , I am finding it tough to vote in the TLM :
eight players in the AFL "best" list , but everyone made a contribution.

BTW , anybody see the 5pm Channel 9 news in Sydney?
Three AFL games "covered" in the sport review , in about 60 seconds !
Sums up their "Aw yeah mate , well League's the go up here" approach.
                          Thanks C9 - brilliant !

A nice summary of Saturday's action:

And in the comments, some nice words from a Cats fan:

As a Geelong supporter, if we were going to be beaten at any time, I'm glad it was Sydney, and I'm glad it was yesterday. They played really well, with a lot of heart, and watching them walk off the field was so uplifting. What a great bunch of guys.

                              Yes, good article.
I particularly admired this clever bit of wordplay:
For as long as the Lions were alive, so was a remote chance that Carlton would slither into fourth place and play Collingwood in the first week of the finals. The AFL, you imagine, was whetting its plans.
He reminds him of the guys, close-set, slow, and never rattled, who were play-makers on the team. (John Updike, seeing Josh Kennedy in a crystal ball)

I heard on SEN on the drive back to Melbourne after the game, that before the game Mathew Lloyd had a bet with a Swans supporter, Kim from Taylors Lakes, of 100 cans of CUB to a watermelon if we beat Geelong. David Schwarz said; "Lloydy, make sure you pay up and don't get the cans from a sponsor. Can someone make sure he pays".

So if you are out there Kim, can you let us know if he comes good and they were bought with his Laurie.
