Just checked, our match day thread for the Tigers game ran for 23 pages - so we've only beat it by a page! That's disgraceful!

Let's talk this up some more - which moment by a Swans youngster got you most aroused?
    - Rohan's smother of Johnson to set Reid up?
    - Parker's triple tackle on the far wing to keep the ball bottled up?
    - Reid calmly going back and slotting the major from 40m after aforesaid Rohan pass?
    - Nick Smith dumping Johnson? And if this, then episodes I/II/III or IV?

To be frank i dont think anything got me aroused. And probably just as well.

On the other hand my happiness was pretty much constant - particularly since the cats fan next to me seemed to have an inability to say anything other than "Oh goodes touched it - that must mean another two brownlow votes." After he'd said it about 25 times I couldn't help but to say "based on todays performance thats one too bloody few."

Even now I am feeling so proud of the whole team. There was not a single passenger and they simply never let the cats settle. And perhaps for once our clearance work was so good that some of our defensive frailities simply didnt materialise. It was the sort of game that just made you so proud to support the swans. I still see us as a 5-8 side but i only really fear collingwood and hawthorn. I reckon we can beat any of the others on our day and with a better than even share of luck.

I liked how Rohan started celebrating even before the ball was anywhere near the goals.
In memory of my little Staffy - Dicey, 17.06.2005 to 1.12.2011- I'll miss you mate.

Rohan was running away from the end I was at but I still cant believe how quick he ran - it seemed to me there wasnt a single Swan fan who wasnt riding him like big fat damien oliver's down the field. It really was wonderful having someone with genuine leg speed in the side.

            +1.
We're really good when we're on song. Just a level below those two juggernauts ... but give it a year or so and a bit of maturing from the young guns we'll be juggernaut.

Back in Sydney after a weekend in Geeeeeelong! Woooo hoooo!

Much to my initial horror, we arrived at the ground to find that our seats were in the middle of the Geelong cheersquad!

But that only made the victory even more sweet. To stand amongst the cats die-hards and sing the song at the end. How amazing. One snarly cats fan even told me to "shut up!"

              "Look at the scoreboard!"

They did not take the defeat well at all.

The atmosphere in the streets afterwards was sensational. The swans fans were buzzing! We saw Bobby Skilton too. He was beaming!

A girl at the local bakery (as it turned out, a non-cats supporter) was almost as excited as we were! Life must be hard if you do not follow the cats but live in Geelong...

              What a great weekend!!!!

I would like to congratulate both the Geelong and Essendon teams for the respect that they showed by wearing black bands as a sign of respect for the McVeighs following the tragic demise of baby Luella. A class act indeed. Well done.

Agreed. Pretty classy also of Schneider and Jolly to wear the armbands also.

The whole week has re-ignited my faith in AFL as a code as well as brought me joy as a Bloods supporter. From Longmires heartfelt and measured comments on the important things in life, to Goodeseys obvious feelings for his good mate, and the class shown by the oposition teams, I think we can all be proud of our code as well as our team. Professionals doing a wonderful job in a well loved field of entertainment. Compare that to the Manly-Melbourne idiots that my kids had to watch over and over trying to kill each other and you have to admit Footy is in good hands.

Everytime I see it I smile because he starts celebrating as soon as it leaves his boot. After a run like that, to see the ball go so straight is a mighty effort. His other shot at goal was dead straight as well. Can he teach the others?

Thank you for saying that Aardy, I hade to fight my hand not to add that bit to my post because i thought it would cause an outrage!
But your dead set right, it would not have hurt him at all to just put a bit of black tape around his arm as a sign of sympathy if not respect for a past comrade.
But then again, he is now and forever a dog.........

Sean Dempster didn't wear one either, are we going to exhibit the same outrage on him as well?
