I can see them wanting to give Pyke or Seaby a run this week and take the load off Mummy for a week - that was a huge physical game Mumford played on Saturday and Leuenberger has been in great touch for Brissie.

Makes sense for the reason you've given, but also to give one of them a taste of higher tempo footy on the eve of the finals just in case something happens to Mumford.

I think he was talking about if we traded him

re Jetta return, IMHO he would only come back to the team this year if we believed we were going to play on the MCG - ie 2 games in, where his speed might help.

Surely Rohan has that speedy role wrapped up for the remainder of this year - and harder at it as well.

Agree 100%. Rohan is playing the way we wanted Jetta to play but he didn,t. To "run Jetts off halfback" would be an easy way to lose a game and is one of the strangest suggestions I have ever read on here, particularly as our backline is settled.

The suggestion to run Jetta off HB was meant in the sense that he is a player who is an outside mid and can play his whole game between the 2 50m arcs. He's not a player to be in and under or hard at the ball, he's a running player, it's what he was drafted for and yes Rohan filled the role well, but we have a lot of in and under mids and we had 2 running players in Rohan and Hanners. On balance I still believe we get more out of Jetta than Meredith, so if Macca doesn't play as is likely, this is a change I think they will contemplate

In other words you would like Jetta to play on the Wing, which is his usual position. Wings range from 1/2 back to 1/2 forward and should provide run and carry. It is obviously the best place for Jetta to play, but he may find it difficult to get back into this winning side.

Jetta is not hard enough, that's why they left him out against Geelong. 2 games out from the finals a club usually wants to go with the finals lineup. Roos said this OTC. Parker, Rohan and Spangher into the team has made us a stronger team physically. There is no reason that I can see to make more than one change by bringing McVeigh back in.

Reading between the lines with Longmire's press conference yesterday, it appears a very good chance that Jets will be back, Parker will keep his place and Tadhg is likely to make way.

I would love to see Jetta learn to tackle properly. Give him a preseason with one-on-ones as a defender then tell him to run it out of the backline from the back pocket, a la Neon Leon. An interesting thought but I'm sure one that will never get off the grouond.

If anyone else comes in, and if it's not McVeigh then it should be Gordon. Jetta will not have learned to tackle, kick and mark properly after one week. He does more damage than good for the team, whereas Gordon actually attacks the ball and forces himself to be involved when he isn't getting into the game, Jetta just looks as if he gawks around and half tries to make a bit of an effort.

                          What i hope will happen

                          Jetta and Malcheski in
                          Kenelly and someone else out.

The coaches will be looking to get Jetta back in the team as he is a player that can turn a game during the finals.

the only change up for discussion would be bringing in McV..... and even then it's arguable.

Looks like Eski will be fit, yd have to think they'd play him rather than Tadgh, it doesn't sound like McV will be back this year, from what Horse said in the press conference. Back on Jetta, does he offer more than Meredith, who definitely shows promise but doesn't have the games under his belt?

AGREE. - Cant believe people are talking about Jetta coming back after 1 game in the 2's where he didnt do much at all by the looks -

Its been my opinion for months that he has been a passenger (check out his match stats if you like), ie: we basically play with 17 men. He and guys like TDL 'MUST' apply defensive pressure, and also make tackles stick! Nip Gordon has been travelling emerg couple weeks in a row now, and the kid needs a run. Reward for consistent, unquestioned, hard, skilful, tireless and exhausting endurance running, stellar forward defensive pressure and tackling, improved discipline, contested marks, and kicks goals!
