Seriously what drugs is Michael Horan smoking from the HeraldSun! Nick Smiths effort against Stevie J on the weekend was sensational.......

    SYDNEY
    Andrejs Everitt (calf) available
    Lewis Johnston (ankle) test
    Nick Malceski (knee) test
    Lewis Roberts-Thomson (calf) test
    Daniel Currie (foot) indefinite

ON THE BLOCK: Alex Johnson, Craig Bird, Nick Smith

ON THE CUSP: Jarrad McVeigh, Andrejs Everitt, Lewis Johnston.

MICHAEL HORAN'S FORECAST: Does the skipper come back after his family tragedy? The Swans are coming off a heroic win in Catland land and back at home to lowly Brisbane then a home final highly likely the following week.

No clue at all. I didn't get the impression that Everitt was in contention either. Where's the mention of Jed lamb? Since he hasn't played seniors, this bloke's probably never heard of him.

I'm picking Mal and Jed for Tadhg and Meredith. If LRT's fit though, I think he'll also get a call up. If he's touch and go he'll get another week's rest. I didn't think Jetta showed much in the ressies and was having a fair bit of work done on his hammies and back with lots of head shaking on his part, so may not even be fit.

This was in the comics section wasn't it. Surely it was meant as a joke piece.

Brad Scott last night on AFL insider lauded Smooches game and said it was the most important match up of the day.

Looks like News limited are paying peanuts to it's reporters again.

This joker could not possibly have watched the game, as if any of those three will go. Tiger for Mal the only possible change I see this week as I'd be stunned if McVeigh played.
On a seperate note, I watched the replay yesterday and noted that Mummy was limping and didn't play the last few minutes. I hope that knee's holding up ok.

Its been my opinion for months that he has been a passenger (check out his match stats if you like), ie: we basically play with 17 men. He and guys like TDL 'MUST' apply defensive pressure, and also make tackles stick! Nip Gordon has been travelling emerg couple weeks in a row now, and the kid needs a run. Reward for consistent, unquestioned, hard, skilful, tireless and exhausting endurance running, stellar forward defensive pressure and tackling, improved discipline, contested marks, and kicks goals!
Unfortunately one of the ones talking about bringing Jetta back was the coach! I sort of regard him as a TDL who doesn't kick goals and I am certain we would not have won at Geelong if he played. He is just not ready!
We have them where we want them, everything is going according to plan!

Yeah,my main worry in the frantic last 5 minutes was that Tadgh would come on and do something really game changing like give away a 50 or handball to one of theirs heading straight towards their goal. Luckily it never happened but if Jetta had been out there too the risk of it happening would have gone up considerably.

The team as picked last week looks good,Smith is an absolute star, and only Mc Veigh needs to come in for Tadgh.

If Rohan continues to play forward - you read it here first - he'll kick 4 this week.

Definitely leave Jetta out, we are a much better side without him in it.

I always feel we go onto the ground with 1 man down when he plays, whats the good of saying we can use his pace when he dosent even get it, if he is to come back in the side, make him earn his place like everyone else has to.

I would rather anyone else in than Jetta.

Jesse was great on the weekend, best game in ages imo.

Up to this point though (or maybe the last two weeks), people here were calling for him to be traded/sacked/shot after almost every appearance this year.

Is all forgiven then? Do we think he's better in that backup ruckman / 2nd tall forward role than LRT?
To all those people who waited 72 years to see a South Melbourne/Sydney Swans premiership HERE IT IS!!

Good point. I think I was one of those who originally had faith in him then slowly lost it through his lacklustre performances and then eventually lost all patience. Jesse as a fast leading accurate kicking forward with sticky hands would be a dream come true. All would be forgiven then! One reasonably good performance (with inaccurate kicking) hasn't really changed my view except that he probably deserves another shot against the Lions. Until then my jury is still out.

As our selections start to have some traction, Tadgh must go we loved him in his prime but he is a weak link. Jetta must not return either.

Jesse's past two weeks have been pretty good, if he can continue in this vein he'll be earning his place, without setting the world on fire ( which he doesnt need to do, as much as we'd all love him to ) . If he improves on this, well that would be even better. He dropped a fair few sitters oagainst the cats, but he seemd to be grabbing them pretty well against the Saints.

Just leave the team as it is. We could use a bit of stability for a change.

The only exception would be if someone gets injured, or when McVeigh is ready to return, in which case he can replace Kennelly, and we'll move someone else around.

I'd be tempted to bring in Jed Lamb for Meredith to give him a taste of a high pressure game. They probably won't risk it and leave the team as is pending Macca being right to to go but this kid has so much x-factor (stupid show btw) and I rate him very very highly.
