Nothing beats a nice quiet game of Aussie rules with minimal applause, cheering and hoorah. Might as well watch on telly with the volume down.

I think we should establish that some love the clappers others loath them- fair enough but I really do take offence about WHTG's hideous comments about the cheer squad and some of the members with special needs. Well WHTG I feel that these beautiful people run rings around you and your boorish comments. Having an older brother who is deaf and a bit of a slow learner , I would rather have a 10000 of people like him and the Kids on the CS any day over one of you. How dare you treat decent people who through no fault of their own have been dealt with such life challenges with such disregard. The cheer squad is so inclusive and I have seen the way these wonderful people have been accepted and love being a part of it. For a few hours a week for 6 months of the year they feel needed, wanted and equal. Until you have walked in their shoes or lived with it - you haven't got a bloody clue. If I get warned on this then so be it. but it had to be said 'pull yr head in'.
I used to be indecisive, but now I'm not so sure..................

You would have to ask WHTG but I did not take it that way at all. He/she seemed to be having a bit of a light hearted pop at cheersquads, nothing more. I think you are being over sensitive.

Go Wardy! I expect nothing less of you - great post.

I think we can let WHTG sort out whether or not he has had enough fun being unfunny and stirring the pot. the rest of us can ignore the (the moderators won't let me say what I want to say here, but you all get the picture). Enough now. Over and Out.

The way to solve this is to become a Giants supported. They do not have clappers but you do have to wear orange, like Kevin Sheedy and enjoy being a loser (well old Swans fans know that feeling)!
Personally Pot Black would have been improved with the clapper and some music!

No desire to get into a slanging match. I think your missing the point, the original poster appeared to be having a lighthearted pop at cheersquads. Something most long term footy supporters regularly do. I know I do, they are funny, sorry but they are.

At no point did I think he intended a slur against genuinely disabled people. If you don't like his posts, fair enough, I find most silly also. Over sensitive on this occasion though for my 4c worth

Just heard a guy saying Wests Tigers were walking dogs round the bay walk near Leichhardt: Sheens teaching 'em how to hold on to a lead.
