    +1.

The outs don't help, but this game was always going to rely on us stopping their running fleet. Mummy and Goodes were never really ever going to part of that plan, so it still remains the same. Those outs have made Norf's job a bit easier, but hasn't really made ours a whole lot harder.

Stop their running game and they've got nuffin', we win.....

Yes I agree. If not Seaby ( who Is a good 1st ruck but not so good 2nd ruck as has been discussed on here last year ) , then Pyke when fit should come in to play forward/ ruck for a genuine chop out to Mummy. I honestly think they would be one of the most formidable ruck duos in the comp and could only improve us as a team, as well as looking after Mummys health

Geez I hope you're right Stell. I didn't seem to make much difference last year when he got injured.

It's hard to attribute Mummy's injury to overwork given he's only played two games this season and in one of those he barely got out of second gear.

The recurrence of the injury is a bit of a concern, though, because it suggests there might actually be something wrong with his back, rather than just a one-off tightening up after a heavy training session.

Our midfield was brilliant sharking the ruck taps off of Sandilands and Clarke 2 weeks ago, we need a repeat dosage again now off of Goldstein and Macintosh.

I have faith in Kennedy, Jack, Hanners and Parker to deliver.

Also, last time we played Norf, Goldtein won the ruck taps decisevely against SEABY AND LRT, 53 to 18...or something like that, and we still won (It was by 1 point, but we still won!!!) so its not all doom and gloom.

I have no fear. It will be tight but the boys will lift. Need to start strong though. 6-7 goal 1st qtr.

First I was afraid, I was petrified.........................

He he, Norf has a young midfield, send Jude and ROK in to do some heavy lifting at the contests, with Parks and JPK, these kids won't know what hit them, sheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeet, what's the doom and gloom about?

Its clearances that matter not tap outs. Sharking the opposition,s taps when they dominate in ruck is as old a ploy as the game itself.Win the clearances and deliver to advantage and you win the game(except St Kilda who can always find a way to lose). The centre clearances as you identify will be crucial. Mummy's loss is covered by Seaby quite well so should not be game changing. As long as Kennedy and Parker keep up their work load and Macveigh,ROK lift, we will be ok.

im pumped.........to not have Goodes or Mummy is a great challenge for us and I honestly think White could surprise on the small oval and be a good target for us !

this will be a dog fight.......it is the SCG and it is to our advantage to strangle the life out of this game for 4 qtrs

                        welcome to the jungle Kanga's

if we are sitting at 4 wins and contained the NMFC who are on a hot streak then watchout as the self belief is growing !!!!!

i should have mentioned - looking at our line up you would expect Andrejs and Rohan also to have very strong games leading for the ball

it just feels like Jetta, Rohan, Parks, Hannes etc are really maturing and stepping up and lifting the standard for themselves and all around them

4 key players missing for us in LRT, Smith, Goodes and Mummy and we are still going to be very very competitive

If Armstrong has a great game you would expect:

                          LRT in for White
                          Smith in for Everitt
                          Mummy in for Seaby
Goodes in for Armstrong or Mal or McGlynn ?

Seaby is a very good footballer and ruckman. I don't see him replacing Mummy as too much of a loss.

I wouldn't call lrt a key player. He has been a fill in for the last year or so. Struggling to prove himself as a ruck forward. Last week White played his role and played quite well, probably better than LRT has.

Good luck to Tony Armstrong - saw him play a couple of times with Adelaide and in SANFL he was confident with good skills so hoping it is the start of something good for both him and the swans - the game is a good test of our depth against a team that is desperate to show something - looking forward to the game.
