+1, Smith will start, LRT 2nd ruck, so it's either everitt or eski for sub, eski being slightly damaged, but most likely take the punt and start him

I think they will probably go with Nic Mal in the sub jacket this week. He came off injured last week and they might will only risk him for a half.

I find it hard warming up to LRT as the second ruck. He has won 12 hit outs in 3 games. Compared to Whites 19 in 2. I see LRT as a defender and that's where he belongs. He looks out of place as our 2nd ruck/forward. This is White's or Pyke's (when fit) role.

I reckon the coaches don't rate the "Second Ruck" job as very important. Its more the other jobs players selected in that position can do that is really important.

Yep I agree, I have no issue with LRT in the side playing whatever role that is required. He's a class player with experience who can play forward or back when needed.
..And the Swans are the Premiers...The Ultimate Team...The Ultimate Warriors. They have overcome the highly fancied Hawks in brilliant style. Sydney the 2012 Premiers - Gerard Whately ABC

                  Doubt it.
Mal is 2nd in the league for metres gained...In other words he's our 'go to' guy out of defence.
If he's OK to play, he'll play a full game.....IMO

We'll know early if there will be a late change which wouldn't surprise. Given Jesse has missed a fair bit of footy as a fresh reserve, he must play in the ressies this week. If he doesn't run out at BOP, he'll be running out at the SCG.

Interesting that T. Walsh has made way for TDL in the emerg. column. For some reason, that I can not put a finger on, we just look more balanced with TDL in the side. I think he may come in, in place of whom I don't know, but he can take a good catch and after Sam Reid being triple teamed last week I think Horse might have a decoy plan a foot. Sam Reid to lead out of square & take 589 defends with him and ball gets kicked to TDL hiding in pocket....GOAL! Anyone like this? Perhaps McGlynn might be the one?

I can't see Mcglynn getting dropped. Not sure if he was great last week but his hardness really set the tone at the outset against the Roos and he's an important part of our side. Would very much like TDL in the side too but at present there just isn't a spot for him I'm afraid. He looks so classy in all the Reserves highlights though, I feel as soon as a forward spot opens up he'll be right in there.

Hmmm, aside for struggling to see who would be dropped at the last minute, I like your idea on TDL. We definitely need a second consistent, solid forward option.

McGlynn is good around the contest and you wouldn't drop him. Remember his form in 2010 in those first four or five rounds on d?but for the club? He was awesome, pulled goals out of nowhere and was extremely dangerous. Funnily enough, that was around the time we had a genuine full forward in the form of Bradshaw as well, and after the defeat by the Saints in round 1, Sydney killed it - won four or five straight I think. Then he and eventually McGlynn got injured. I think perhaps the Swans side in the first part of 2010 is the balance you're looking for, noting our key players now were rookies then.

McGlynn is getting close to that 2010 form again so must stay. I just don't know who you would drop and more so, what reason would be given other than 'calf soreness' now the team has been selected.
Captain, I am detecting large quantities of win in this sector

Not a snowflakes chance in hell that McGlynn will get dropped, but he did get a knock last week so may be in some doubt, you never know.

In that case, Alan's detective work is a nice get...

Still cannot believe LRT is getting a gig ahead of White. He is just ineffective, tries hard but need more than that
