This mob didn't look like it! The coaching was crap and the match ups were all wrong. But did Horse & Co learn, No Rhyce was on Delidio all night/day and Smithy could have taken him and lessened the damage. Get rid of Shaw before our next match please as he has been totally exposed by a good mid. The Umps were terrible but that in the long run didn't lose us the game. We didn't come to play and didn't like the Richmond intensity!!!! We had too many players who were rushed and never got any better. The problem is that many of those guys are the core group and they always looked rushed tonight. Richmond set up better than us and that is a coaching problem. They always seemed comfortable about setting up the loose man yet we were always rushed. This leads me to believe that our game plan is so soft that any side can bust it if they are a strong unit! We lost the centre square and even though they kept a man on defensive side we seemed to ignore him! Frustrating!

I think he made a big blue in not taking TDL in as a player not a Sub! They were by far the better side on the night but I will say that I think the coaching was @@@@e! They were much better coached than us!!!
Wolftone, you sound like you've coached before. You should email the Club. They might take notice.

I agree with you Longmire needs to go. Swans have no hope without Goodes.

Forget about big bodies, we need more leg speed to keep up with teams like Richmond. The most worrying thing about that loss is the injures that might come out of it. Parker, Hanners both looked off. We just don't have the depth in the ressies to cover any more major outs. Last weeks game must have taken more out of the boys than I thought. TDL should have started and probably will next week, Everitt gave us bugger all, but most of our better players were well held anyway. So, on to next week i suppose

We lost. They were better. I'm sad.
On the next week - lets give the Demons a pasting.

            Thoughts on the train back

Bird is amongst the worst players I have seen at Sydney. Cannot run slow Useless, not an AFL standard player

Seaby looks tired. Give Pyke a run
Mcglynn is too inconsistent. Next year I hope Cunningham goes past him
Reid looks like he is laboring and needs a rest
Backline was awesome considering the pressure they were under
Interesting to see selection for next week. Longmire has two losses to base changes on
You don't ban those who supported your opponent, you make them wallow in their loserdom by covering your victory! You sit them in the front row. You give them a hat! Toby Ziegler

Guys, TDL work was awful, he failed to pick up his man on the spread and allowed them out.

Horse will be ropeable, he may get a run next week, just to run him into the ground.

You're a funny Lady. Great to see that you can still laugh after such a loss.

There are so many I've noticed that just can't. Keep up the good work.

Richmond were up for the game and I don't know why we were not - but is was pretty obvious by our first quarter effort that we were not ready for the tigers pressure - not sure what we expected - when sides pressure us our skills let us down badly same old story - it's not coaching it's more about onfield leadership and tonight it was'nt there - how long before Mumford is back ?

On the other hand, TDL can at least lead and mark and kick goals. I'd back him for another go next week. Agree that Seaby needs a rest and Everitt just doesn't give enough. I'd go with Seaby, Everitt out and Pyke with either Morton/Walsh in.

                          McVeigh - Soft
                          Everitt - Soft
                          White - MIA
Malceski - pathetic under any pressure
                          Reid - playing injured
McGlynn - Completely out of form

We need a captain that will lead by example. McVeigh is not that.
TDL must pay next week. He offered something completely different for our forward line, which hasn't functioned correctly for weeks.
Bottom line is, you cannot give any team a lead that big and expect to win.
We need to start our matches with a bit more passion.

On a positive note, hanners great run again. Won't get accolades as suspect his possies were low. He has really grown into our new fossie/mcveigh gutrunner. He presented and ran into space unrelentingly

Macca is not soft and TDL allowed tigers out with lack of run (suspect nouse rather than lazy) the difference between the quick spread at afl level and neafl is enormous. So
Despite my criticism of his backwards run I would give him a second chance, if he does it again, he will never make the grade.

                              Agree on the rest

I am still seething and frankly pissed off after another inept performance against that a team that no matter what the love in from the Melbourne media will say, have progressed very little from last year. We were just crap - no analysis is needed of who was good, who was bad blah blah blah - we were just crap!

A game we could not afford to drop, and we need to seriously pull our finger out over the next month or our good start to the season will quickly be rendered wasted.
