Whilst I think Tommy is the sort of player who will continue to develop well and learn the game if he stays in the team, surely we couldn't give him the 2nd ruck job? Putting the additional burden of being second ruck has not exactly helped Jesse White, and it's not working too well with LRT either. Is the answer 2 rucks? Well not likely, from past experience, but I really hope Tommy doesn't get lumped with the role.....

At least LRT know how to play back, and can play fwd in patches.
But as Tommy had little opportunity on Sat given the lack of ball in the F50, I'd hope he gets another go, if not, bring in Mitch.Comment

I agree he would be disappointed but don't agree that he is going to bounce back with a great game. I think Tommy is way out of his class at the moment and it would be better for him to go through his tapes with the coach then send him back to the reserves for a week. We are playing the suns so reasonable-ish opponent for him to practice on you would hope.Comment

Ok finished wine Ive put a lot of thought into this - at least 3 mins -
Spang for LJ.... LRT goes back to defence
Morton for Walsh
Reid plays FF and 2nd ruck
Jude starting sub
Ive parked the Jesse train not that Ive given up on him but obviously the coaches have.

Hopefully Mummy will be right. If he does come in though, Pyke should stay. He's clearly under orders not to kick, but he CAN kick. When he does at the moment, he knows he's not supposed to be doing it and gets nervous about it. They should tell him to go ahead and kick it if it's on so he can relax and just play what he sees. He could be a very handy back-up ruck/forward which would also allow Mummy to spend some time forward too as they ease him back in.Today's a draft of your epitaphComment

Ok controversy time:
Maybe Walsh played to his true ability -perhaps that's why he never got a game at St Kilda. He had the perfect opportunity and motivation last week.
Pyke stays as Fwd/2nd ruck.
LRT - out (Ted and Reg seem to have key positions covered) no room for him
Trying to fit Spangher in - maybe FP
Need one more change to the backline - either Shaw or Melcho - open to suggestion for replacements here
If Mumford not ready then Seaby in - need to have an experienced first ruck, just to get hand on ball first..
Question - Why try and crucify Reid by playing him as 2nd ruck, if anything get him up the ground to a wing.
Forward line instruction: Pyke doesn't need to move from goal square making someone accountable for him, everyone else goes man on man.
Put a tag (Macca or JB) on Lake to stop him running off his player.spriteComment

What about Melcho into a fwd pocket?
He's not a bad mark on the lead, and has a great kick.
And as a defender he's not that great, he's more of a rebound player, and got dragged into the hot zone too much against the Saints.

OT - Don't think Ted is the man for the job -
EDIT - whoops, wrong topic.
Anyway - 3.15pm Sunday. Forget that. You want to me to get home at 8ish on a work night?
ALF bent over for TV so I'll capitulate and watch on TV. Be interested to see who else agrees with me, I feel a small crowd coming on.-Comment

Our crowds have been pretty poor so far so I don't expect much to change on Sunday - low 20k's I reckon, and below that if its wet.
Of course the closure of part of the ground doesn't help, but I noticed last home game that General Admission was sold out yet we had less than 21k in attendance. I think that needs to be addressed if we and the AFL want to keep encouraging people to come to our games. We have TV and another team to contend with after all....Comment
