Thridly, I wasn't having a go at you, just someone who picks faults in almost anything I say or quote from the press.

Last, check out "The Inquisition" from ABC radio at This link to see exactly what was said. there is an interview with Keiren Jack at about the 24 minute mark, and and Stan Alves talking about his best players at about the 65-70 minute mark. In the Jack interview he talks about both Ted and Jetta. It may help put my comments in perspective. Whately also believes we are a top 4 side this year.
I certainly wasn't having a go at you, or picking u apart. Although I have to say I know the feeling. Those things happen in AA teams, Goodes got picked in a forward pocket I think, and Kell was picked on the bench (well, that's a long time ago, not sure about that) It's pretty normal to get picked out of position in an AA team. I turned that off after the Jack interview, wasn't aware of any picks AA picks by them or the reasons for it. The ABC is not what I would classify as Melbourne media, they are actually pretty unbiased, which I've stated on here b4

He was asked about those in an interview before the Bulldogs game. His response was "they look less blue on-line!". I'm not sure they are a long-term choice.

There is really no need to compare the two.

Jetta is the top scoring midfielder in the league. He may be smaller in stature, but to associate him as one of the 'scoring little men in the league' is bizarre which was the point many of us were making. If Dan Hannebery had Jetta's goal tally do you really think he would be considered a small forward?

Get a grip. Nobody was being paranoid or trying to be a smartarse. It was just a factually incorrect statement that we all picked up on.
Not sure what the hoo ha is about. This from the Horses mouth:

"Twenty-seven goals at the halfway point for a small forward, wingman is a terrific effort."

It seems his coach thinks he is small, a forward and a wingman.

Is this thread about Ted or Jetts??!!

Anyway, Ted DOES deserve his own thread. He's going brilliantly this year and is clearly unaffected by his burgeoning media profile as author of The Richards Report. I like the earlier poster's reference to his relationship with Reg too. Maybe they're our own Felix and Oscar?

Reg does look a bit grumpy, now that you mention Felix and Oscar, they are a great double act though in the backline. But then the whole back six works effectively as a unit. For a while there against bombers they were the HF line, especially the 2nd q

Actually, if that was the case I reckon many would start to view him in that light. I would. Remember, forwards play along way up the ground these days. I guess it comes down to your definition of a "forward". but that is for another thread.

If u go back and watch teh replay, Ted, Reg and AJ were playing centre to HF in teh 2nd q. With the forward press working, traditonal roles are not what they were. Any of our mids cld be considered a forward, such is the way teh game is played now.

Good question. And a few others. I reckon you could pick a team to challenge them from the people left out, starting with Ted and Goodes.
He reminds him of the guys, close-set, slow, and never rattled, who were play-makers on the team. (John Updike, seeing Josh Kennedy in a crystal ball)
