End of story. Great effort AGAIN by the Bloods. We're in this premiership fight right up to our necks!
    Right on!

      Collingwood are totally predictable.
Every time they play us, they beat us!

That will help with the decision come finals time. Might save a few dollars.

Yes. I agree that Mick's primary motivation is to show that he is a better coach than Buckley, and what a bad decision it was to replace him. I never liked Buckley as a player, although I thought he was a great player, but think he's been first class as a coach and think Collingwood got it right taking him over Malthouse.

And on some of the other ridiculous stuff he spouts about the schedule and standings, Collingwood lost to Hawthorne twice and Carlton twice. Why should they sit ahead of those teams on ladder? Collingwood has had a tough schedule, but they have so many other things in their favour, you just can't take one aspect in isolation and extrapolate a conclusion from that. There are so many different factors that go into making a season.

The current Collingwood list would make Buckenara look good as a coach.

"Malthouse says Swans are predictable and easy to stop"

Oh yeah, well Matimbo says "Malthouse is predictable and easy to ignore".

I seem to remember him saying earlier in the season something along the lines of Longmire being a nice guy but not likely to achieve anything with the Swans. Now we sit on top of the ladder and he trots out a similar story. He has already been proved wrong. When we win the flag he will say we won't be able to repeat it.

              Facts are:

              1. We have the 2nd best % in the comp - Mick, this means our average winning margin is right up there so who is it that is finding us easy to stop???
              2. We are equal comp leaders with all but 3 games of the season completed - Mick, only four teams have managed to stop us all season
              3. We have the #1 defence in the comp - Mick, this means Swans are finding it easiest of all teams at stopping other teams scoring ... perhaps you meant to say this instead???

There is no other team that can boast these three FACTS combined
CIA Agent to Policeman: "Have you ever had anti-terrorist training?"
Policeman: "Yes, I was married once."

My favourite Malthouse quote was after the last time the Swans beat Collingwood (June 25, 2005) when he moaned "that the only reason the Swans won was because they kicked more goals". He could have said that about Collingwood after Saturday night. Basically he is never going to recover from the humiliation of being fired despite within a year of his players winner a premiership. Now like the myriad of ex-AFL coaches littering the media, tries to justify his existence with his blowhard comments. At least Denis Pagan had the dignity to leave footy altogether and become a used car dealer.

Yeah - whatever. It came down to the last 30 seconds of the game. So predictable and so easy, Collingwood just wanted to spice it up with a nail-biting finish. Plus the conditions were custom made for Jude Bolton so I think the Pies can count themselves lucky to have gotten away with the win.

Speaking of favourable draws...how does 14 games at the MCG sound?....Sounds Ironic to me.

Yes I know, they're are the biggest drawing club...but if we are simply talking about "favourable draws" The wobbles is , without doubt,, one of the best.

I love Longmire's response to Malthouse:

"We don't come in here on a Monday, look at Mick Malthouse's comments and throw the world upside down and do the review completely different because of it," he said.

"He's entitled to his opinion and a lot of people think he's right in that and that's fine, it doesn't worry me and it doesn't worry the players."

The reality is that Malthouse's comments have stung.

Good. If we do end up meeting Collingwood some time in the finals, we won't need any extra motivation.

Last night just means better odds for the Swans leading into the run to the finals.

Only real concern I have is that the ressies boys don't really seem to be pushing for a place in the firsts, given that our bottom few players don't seem to be setting the world on fire.
I don't agree with you about the Resies boys. Jesse had a great game Saturday as did Lambchop, Morton, Spang was pretty good and Walsh did ok. Nipper Gordon was pretty good considering he hasn't had a full game in a couple of weeks. Alex Brown & Campbell Heath were both very good. Heath is looking more like Teddy every day, he looks like him and plays like him. Jack Lynch is fast becoming a very good defender. Dyl did ok but I am a bit sus about Brett Meredith, he is frustrating, he does some really great things then just goes out of the game. He seems to get lost in the play at times. He totally ran past both player and ball at one stage and instead of going back in he just stopped
