Meh. He's got the right to his opinion. It's up to us to show him he was wrong. I still don't really get why this has fired everyone up so much.

I tend to agree with you.

Malthouse said he didn't think the Swans and the Crows were the two best sides in the competition, and that we owed our position on the ladder to a favourable draw.

Well, after last night, he might just be right about the Crows, mightn't he? But I desperately hope he's wrong about us.

He has the right to his opinion, doesn't make it right and it's fairly obvious to anyone that he doesn't like any Sydney team, so go to hell Mick

I agree that he has the right to an opinion and I don't in any way need everyone to be positive about the Swans, I just think that when Malthouse talks about the Swans, he is usually just factually incorrect.

If he had said that we struggle with our forward line setup then that's fine, he is entitled to his opinion and the facts back up his stand. But when he says (as he did earlier in the year) that the Swans play like they did under Roos, or that we have had a soft draw (even though we have beaten Hawthorn, Geelong and West Coast and come within a kick of Collingwood and Adelaide) then I don't think he has the right to just spurt incorrect information without being disputed.

In the end though, I think ladder position is the ultimate reflection of the competition - if you beat enough teams, you will be on top, regardless of your draw.

None of the stupid Melbourne so called experts or journalists rate the Swans (except maybe Lloyd) as even on 3aw today it was stated that the Swans on form are 5th behind Hawthorn, Collingwood, North and Adelaide so go figure. sound like 2005 re-visited and I was happy the way that turned out. They all have us losing to both Hawthorn and Geelong yet we have beaten both these teams this year and Geelong at Geelong last year.

People just don't see anything in us that's very special. They stare too long at the team sheet and forget to actually watch us play.

I can almost guarantee that if we beat Hawthorn (and really that is a rather big if) the media will spend the next week analysising how disappointing they were, how some of their gun players miss-fired rah rah rah and then you'll get a bunch of cynics coming out and saying 'well the grand final is not played at the SCG!' There is always some dopey moron you can count on...

And what that dopey moron doesnt realise is if we beat Hawks at SCG, we have a good chance of meeting them in a preliminary final at the SCG a few weeks later.

Have to correct you there. All our finals are played at ANZ no exceptions given the SCG's reduced capacity.

                        It was the Bulldogs.

Perhaps the next 2 weeks might have greater impact on the season.

A few of the so called experts should have a look at Hawthorn's 3rd quarter against the Suns - I'll take our 1st quarter today any time.

Was it just me, or did the commentators go out of their way to find weaknesses in our side in the last quarter today, even as we managed to kick 10 goals in the quarter? Found it extraordinary for a side currently on top of the ladder. I'm loving the way we have been playing this year and the second half was the Swans in full flight. The finals will most likely be a lottery this year, so I agree with Auntie Gerald, we (as fans) should enjoy each moment and thank our lucky stars that we are not the ones who have to run out there and go to war each week!

I only kept hearing about Griffen - Saved earth from the meteor, walked on water, raised the dead and featured in Harry Potter.

Who in Harry Potter ???? Griffen DOH!
