Not sure what we have in terms of back-up defenders in the reserves, but I would consider dropping Grundy altogether. It is not just his performance today that has been poor.

we do seem to go to sleep in the last 10 minutes of a quarter. Did the same against collingwood. Do we need to look at who and when we interchange? It seems that the team balance changes and we lose intensity.
At least we're having a go, and really there was no way we could maintain that pressure from the first quarter indefinitely.

the scrubby kick forwards to the half forward line really cost us - they started attacking the bsll when it was in front of them and started bursting forwards. we either have to hit a target or run the bloody thing at them. because at the moment they are going to think they have taken our best shot and are only down by less than a goal.

Had any one got stats on scores this season while kicking to the end without the stands? Something tells me our score to the end with the stands would far outweigh it

Our midfield really has to work super hard in the 2nd half and our forwards have to move to help Goodes up front. McGlynn got that goal but again against a top side is hardly sighted. He should be working into the forward line to help Goodes who seems to be double teamed every time.

by the way LRT and Goodes are not forwards. it is truly depressing that pyke regularly looks the most likely to take a mark forward of centre.

We're really going to have to earn the game. The coaches have some work to do tactically to stop the Hawks run from the backline and their stppoage set ups. Also we tend to over use the ball in our backline which has cost us goals from turnovers. Not playing very smart to be blunt. Feeling super nervous about the result, but hopefully the bring it and the crowd lifts them to a win.

i reckon thats really hard on mcglynn nico. in the first quarter his pressure acts were amazing. the reality is that goodes, reid, pyke, lrt is too top heavy and makes mcglynn and bolton/jetta/bird have to do so much work to keep the ball in. the talls we have are just not really capable of taking contested marks regularly which means you just need to have more smalls up there.

My fault. Started watching when Hawthorn were 9.

Don't forget it's all about momentum. It's the Swans turn next - let's make the most of it. Good luck Lads.

if this game continues in this vein we will lose by ten goals.

LRT should be dragged for morton now.
