I AM BLOODY ANGRY AS HELL. WE GET IN FRONT AND THEN ONCE AGAIN LET OURSELVES DOWN WITH CENTRE CLEARANCES. IT HAPPENED AGAINST COLLININGWOOD AND IT HAPPENED AGAINST ADELAIDE. THIS HAS BEEN GOING ON FOR BLEEDIN YEARS AND WE STILL CANT GET IT RIGHT. WE WORK OUR GUTS OUT TO GET BACK IN FRONT THEN WATCH THEM TAKE THE BALL AWAY. WHY DONT OUR BLOKES GET TO THE PILL FIRST INSTEAD OF STANDING OFF AND WATCHING THE OPPOSITION MAKE A BEELINE FOR IT. IT HAPPENED ALL GAME AND IT EVEN HAPPENED LAST WEEK AGAINST THE BULLDOGS. WE AS GOOD AS SQUANDERED A HOME FINAL IN 2 MINUTES.

Two terrible last quarter calls against us possibly cost us the game. Might just be excuse making but the 50m and the holding the ball call were both there.

Can we sign Travis Cloke now? Cant believe people who dont think we need another key forward.

i think they are a 8 goal better side at the mcg than us. we are an 8 goal side better at teh scg than anywhere else.

i think we will have a straight sets exit here - lose to hawthorn at mcg and then lost to the 5/6 teams - north/geelong.

structurally we are seriously good in the midfield, but our forward line is just not good enough - and unless we keep some smalls forward of centre to lock the ball up we are stuffed.

Puopolo one was the only one I could see. Maybe a few blatant holding the ball decisions. Hodge gets an eternity to dispose of the ball. But we lost it in the last 2 minutes. When you in front with 2 minutes left you close it down.

No offence but that is crap. We are good enough this year to beat anyone anywhere.

Forwards were not our problem in the end (in fact for the most part they made good contests - and we had our opportunities). We lost it in the midfield at the end, just like we did against Collingwood. We could not get our hands on the ball in the critical centre clearances. Not sure what we can do in that regard.

Grundy's decision-making and clangers still worry me though.

interesting that burgoyne was the kicker of the ball in the most obvious 50 metre i have ever seen as well as the goal to win the game. longmire should clearly say so - given that we had two fiftys paid against us which can only be described as technical in the second quarter - and then the ball is allowed to be kicked 30 seconds after the free is awarded. just staggering.

but leaving that to one side - how is it possible that they managed a mark inside 50 with 2 minutes to go - where exactly were all of these numbers that were supposed to be behind the ball.

Really we've done so much better than expected this year, it's been great so far. This was a good game and could have gone either way. The game against Collingwood was the same. We're in the finals, we may be top four...anything can happen...Congrats to the team for having a go....better to lose to the Hawks and Pies now and beat them when it counts...

I have been banging on about centre clearances for years Matty. Grundy's obligatory early jump and free against at critical times happens every week.

The umpiring decisions were nothing compared to our numerous errors out of defence. How many times did we turn it over with failed clearances, leading to an immediate shot at goal for Hawthorn?

Grundy was our backline weakness in the first half. Rarely came across to assist Ted against Buddy.
