I heard in a radio interview that Talia's sister Jenny is getting very excited about next Saturday's game.
I like what you did there, but he was hardly Robinson Crusoe...look at the list.

    2 - Clang
    3 - McClang
    4 - Clangerbery
    5 - O'Clang
    9 - Clangski
    etc

Big difference over the past month is our ability to hit a target which we seemed to be doing well through the good run. Deplorable against the Cats.
The eternal connundrum "what happens when an unstoppable force meets an immovable object" was finally solved when David Hasselhoff punched himself in the face.

If grundy is suspended, surely LRT must go back to defense. If not, I will barage this forum with some ansavoury comments at longmires expense.

The whole season has imploded & if we get within 30 points next week it will be a miracle...the midfield has been worked out...the forward line is more dysfunctional than ever...Goodes is clearly about 80%...and we can't mark the ball. Shae seems to have let the publicity go to his head the last few weeks...Mike Pyke (love him) did not handle the finals type atmosphere today...LRT was invisible...Jetta has gone walkabout...but if we had only been more desperate at the last 2 centre bounces against Hawthorn I wouldn't be thinking like this!

Everything that has gone before has happened, so there's no point agonising over it. Let's look forward to next week. We finished third on the ladder and it's finals time!

LRT the key forward has to end. It has gone way past embarrassing, last month shows what a folly it has been

Armstrong unlucky if he loses his spot. Longmire must surely regret not resting players at some point

I dont think the Jetta has gone walkabout comment is either appropriate or fair.

Jetta with mcveigh remain the only player we have capable of hitting someone inside fifty. But Jetta can do it over fifty metres.

By contrast hannerbury and goodes simply cannot hit forwards to save their life.

Oh please, we loose to Hawthorn who are premiership favorites by 7 points (which if luck went our way we would have won) Smashed a cellar dweller and then had a shocker on the hardest road trip in the league and you want to say the season has imploded? Look at the ladder, we finished 3rd, we play for a home prelim next week against a side which are more "pretenders" than what the Melbourne media want to label us.

                    Watch this space I say.

Usually threads like this are full of creative suggestions for the next week's line-up, but not this one. Everyone seems a bit disoriented after yesterday, or perhaps after the last disappointing month we've gone through.

Reid and Smith are expected to play next week according to the club's website, so it would probably be a good idea to plan for Grundy's absence. Who could credibly take his place?

Tommy Walsh? He's a big-bodied chap, similar height and weight. Might be worth a try down back.

Who else? How is Matt Spangher these days? He was in the team when we beat Geelong at the Cattery last year. Where is he now? Could he play down back?

I get the feeling Andrejs Everitt will be back next week. Maybe put him in the forward line and let LRT go back to his old position.

How about TDL? Has he been forgiven yet? Might be time to de-list him if we're not going to use him. Same goes for Campbell Heath, though he probably lacks match fitness.

                        Of course, there's always Jesse...

I prefer to avoid all this angst and the fantasy scenarios. It's not as if anything we think has any influence on who will be chosen.

So I'm resting myself so I'm ready for next week's game.

Finals are not the time to be trying players in other positions (Walsh down back). Spangher played in defence at West Coast and would be a better option. Though, I'd put LRT into the back line and bring in either TDL or Morton. And as for your suggestion we delist Heath if we're not going to use him - we did; last year.

LRT to cover Grundy (who was completely idiotic and selfish for his strike). LRT vs Tippet while Richards takes on Ratboy Walker.

Do we play another tall (on top of Reid) to cover LRT's absence in our forward line? Or do we go for more creativity in TDL/Morton? Obviously Reid comes back but we've had some success having LRT,Reid,Goodes and resting ruckman to overpower some backlines.
Therefore if we do it's up to Walsh, Spangher, Everitt or White to fill that role.

Jetta needs a @@@@ing rocket but let's hope the big stage is where he will shine again.

Smith in for the unlucky Armstrong.
