Grundy won't be suspended, the force wouldn't constitute a strike. On changes, maybe Lamb as a sub might be a left-field alternative. Those who have the greatest power to hurt us are those we love.Comment

The whole season has imploded & if we get within 30 points next week it will be a miracle...the midfield has been worked out...the forward line is more dysfunctional than ever...Goodes is clearly about 80%...and we can't mark the ball. Shae seems to have let the publicity go to his head the last few weeks...Mike Pyke (love him) did not handle the finals type atmosphere today...LRT was invisible...Jetta has gone walkabout...but if we had only been more desperate at the last 2 centre bounces against Hawthorn I wouldn't be thinking like this!"You get the feeling that like Monty Python's Black Knight, the Swans would regard amputation as merely a flesh wound."Comment

The loss to Collingwood is the one that rankles with me. We were the better team for most of the game but just lacked a little composure when it counted. Against the Hawks we were outstanding for all but a 10 minute patch, and kept fighting to the end against the team I think is the best in the competition this year. And to beat the Cats anywhere when they get their tails up you have to play well, let alone at Skilled Stadium. They played pretty well, we had a few blokes down on intensity and the outcome is not a surprise.
We can beat the Crows next week but will need the whole team to play well. It is hard to pick how the Grundy incident will go - it is certainly possible it will be deemed to be insufficient force. But if he is outed, the obvious restructure is to move LRT back. Smith and Reid back into the team (hopefully), Walsh out (he did OK but not in our best 22 at the moment), Parker to play a full game, Armstrong to stay and maybe Eski as sub?Comment

Jetta's had his eyes on finals for awhile and has been foxing. Will explode on saturday on the big ground.Adam Goodes: Rising Star 99, Brownlow 2003, 2006

On SEN this morning they were saying how clubs had stopped Jetta's run and carry into the forward line, but we were still persisting with this strategy. Made sense to me. It is easy to stop a bloke like Jetta at Geelong because it is a very narrow ground so there is no space out wide to run. It is like a standard racecourse. 2 straights with curves at both ends. Does not resemble an oval at all. The should bulldoze the hole.Comment

I'm just home from the game and I can tell it wasn't a matter of disinterest. The boys tried, it just wasn't their day and they were frustrated with themselves and it showed. Looked like ast weekend took it out of them a bit and I think next week will be hard as this game was tough too. The Cats were intense and on song. With Scarlett's last game at Kardinia and Hawkins 100th they were definitely up for it. Smooch out totally messed with the match-ups and we lost some of our attacking options as a consequence.
Good news is he and Reid should be right next week so that would be Armstrong and Tommy out the only changes.Comment

Just for something different I'd like to see the forward line cleared right out except for Jetta. Don't kick it to him, but rather out into the open and make it a footrace. Those who have the greatest power to hurt us are those we love.Comment

Agree. I have previously commented that I would like see Jetta play forward. If he can't break the lines, we should use him in another capacity. He has many strings to his bow. His brain is as quick as his feet. Good vision and can hit up open players with pin point passes. Would be dangerous up front.Comment

The most logical changes given the direction taken by the coaching panel during the past four months. Spangher won't play again for the Swans. Ditto for White and TDL, who will be heading home to the West. Grundy will be a bad loss but it is hard to see him squeezing out of the facial he gave Pods. Everitt is not an ideal replacement for Grundy but he does provide some flexibility front or back. We will need to get more out of Hanneberry, Jetta, Mumford/Pyke next week."Play like you can’t lose."Comment

He will get over 100 points and take the guilty plea and good behaviour deductions to play this week.
Chapman might be unlucky due to his record only.
