virgin are considering scheduling more flights from melbourne for friday the demand is so high. 10,000 + pies supporters flying up it's being reported. It'd be great to a massive crowd, and even better a win. I'm tipping 60, 000 +

Hopefully the weather won't do an about face and the wind/showers stay away. Because the gale-force winds the last time we played them were shocking at ANZ.
I missed the Prelim final in 2010, but I was one of the rain drenched Dragons faithful the next week at the Grand Final. Tied as the best day live at the footy I've ever had - alongside the 2005 world cup qualifier against Uruguay! I was too young to go to any of the Swans finals in 2005-06, but hoping I can have at least 2 more wonderful moments to align with those moments!

40,000 tickets sold is not bad at all. Good weather on Friday and I think we could get 55-60,000. Which, considering the prices would be a really good effort!

I believe top price for NRL prelim final tickets is $80, half the $160 being asked by the AFL. That's got to make a huge difference to the crowd.

I don't know why anyone would say they expect 65,000 if only 40,000 tickets have been sold. That's just talking it up.

There was a full page ad in today's Mx. I can imagine most of Level 6 being full, as rows 13 back is Bronze. Silver is virtually sold out...well except for the bay or two they hold back for sale on the day!
The weather is going to be brilliant. No rain in the forecast.....as I type this during a storm!
I've already warned work that my desk will be covered in Red and White on Friday and hopefully all of next week. We are meant to keep personal effects to a minimum!

Can we arrange for a few flights to be "Ferals Only" and then have them mysteriously rerouted due to capacity problems at Sydney airport to I dont know... western Siberia???

Considering it is only Tuesday, I would say we are on track for a big crowd. Well done Sydney.

With all due respect Erica...you seem to always be talking it down!

These home prelims are so few and far between that any home based Swannies member / supporter should embrace and be there. When we are singing ?heer Cheer at the end of the game, defeating Collingwood, hoodoo ended and heading off to the GF...why would anyone want to be anywhere else but ANZ on Friday night!?! BRING IT ON!!

What's wrong with talking it up? We want as many people there as possible.

Me too - I was a bit pessimistic early in the week due to the prices, but it looks like we'll get a big crowd. Hopefully this gains momentum thru the week and we'll get lots of last minutes and walk ups - bring it on!!!!

                            Crowd number for preliminary final

Not to mention having the chance to be there when one of our greatest warriors runs out for his 300th game. If I was a Sydney sider with doubts about going for whatever reason, being there to honor a modern legend of our club in his milestone game would be enough to get me over the line. In saying that I am not attending, flying up for a Friday game is just not possible for me unfortunately, and im pretty devastated about it too. For those who don't have to do this, and can find the money for a ticket, I would hope you seriously try to make the effort to support our boys and our Champion Jude in a huge game. Home prelims don't come along very often, especially ones coinciding with a champions 300th. Do yourself a favor and get there if you can!! I sorely wish I could!!
