With Tippett's undeniable potential (both in his own right & as a partner to Buddy) what are the chances of further contract extensions? It's just a shame the we've only seen glimpses of the awesome power of our star studded forward line. Such promise.

I seem to remember that the concern about Kurt before we took him was 'one more hit to the head' scenario, but the knee seems to be much more of a problem. Were there any signs of that before or is it just plain bad luck?

        maybe another Bradshaw challenge?

        Hopefully not

The rumour for Tip was an average of $800k pa for 4 seasons

ie split up as $1.1 mil PA x first 2 years......... then the next contract would look like $500k and $500k for the next 2 years

I am comfortable to sign Tip at this stage for another two years at $500k pa

Seems like an exotic sports car. Looks great and goes great sometimes but a lot of time being fixed.

          Let's hope working when needed.

Can't we just plonk him in the goal square as a decoy for Buddy? He'd probably trip over the goal line and break a fingernail.

I was a little surprise that Tippett had 16 disposals tonight against the Saints. Didn't seem to do a lot.
And has missed half the season (again).
But he's currently equal fifth in the League for goals per games played this season ... and if he'd managed to play every game this year and each week kicked his talley tonight (with a less than stellar performance) we might have two Swans vying for the Coleman. Buddy is certainly better for Kurt's presence (as is probably Goodsey & Sammy). Consistency from Buddy, presence of Kurt, cameos from Goodsey & development from Sammy is a stretch for most defences. If they somehow manage to stop the big 4, there are a plethora of small forwards & mids who are avenues to goal.
How long can we keep Tippett for to tandem twin tower him with Buddy? & despite the calling for Goodsey to call it a day at seasons end, as a 4th option forward, he's still very handy.

I thought he played a really good unselfish game yesterday.

Went up the ground to make space for Buddy one out, splitting packs and contesting hard when the ball was in his area.

He seems happy to play second fiddle when Buddy is on. I didn't realise he was such a good team player.

                  Hats off to Tippo !

Agree on all counts. But as a second fiddle forward at Sydney, he's as effective as most first violin forwards at other clubs. It's kinda like watching the Vic State of Origin setup of Lockett & Ablett

I thought the same thing, actually thought they played their best game together yesterday.

A perfect foil for Buddy. If opposition defences double or triple team one of them then the other gets a virtual free reign to get the footy. Taking on the Swans must currently be an opposition coaches nightmare. Great to see this thread continuing to build. There is not a similar one on Buddy so just shows the high esteem Kurt had before the star attraction arrived.

It also helped that the ball came in quickly. St Kilda defenders didn't get a chance to double up. Tippett doing pretty much all he's expected, and kicking more than 2.5 goals a game from just nine games.

Not many teams will have the height down back to cover Tippett, Buddy, Goodes, Reid and Pyke.
Tippett is more than a foil, he is a massive target.

Funny, a couple of seasons ago, before the arrival of Buddy & probably Tippo, Pykey was a genuine second forward, holding contested grabs & converting set shots pretty well (considering his current reluctance/instructed aversion to field kicking), while backing Mummy in the ruck. Now, not much room up forward for the the big Canadian.

Yep, not much point in him going in there too often if the others are their doing their thing.
