Id love to do the Wellington game, but looking at travelling for 8 weeks overseas at the end of next year, so not sure the leave could stretch to it. however, it is definitely on the consideration list.

I like the sound of a game in Hobart however - will definitely do that if it happens. Still kicking myself I didn't go to that Launceston game this year! I think I can even manage to tempt the better half to come along - after all I am led to believe there are some good wineries not far from Hobart.

Launceston was incredible this year. So glad I went. Definitely looking at the Wellington trip next year.

Looks like round 1 is at ANZ against GWS, then round 2 at SCG - I knew the AFL would try to cash in on us winning the premiership by playing round 1 against GWS so they get a decent crowd. If round 1 is Easter though doesn't it mean the Easter show is also on at Homebush?

I would have prefferred we played GWS at their home gound market it as come see the premiers and be part of a new record crowd blah blah. Play before a record crowd probably a sell out with great atmosphere, couldnt see them getting near 40K at ANZ.

            Cheers

The show usually helps NRL crowds. Smart move.

I read in the article about White that Sydney has the first 2 rounds in Sydney with round 1 against GWS at Homebush.

(Quote) THE SWANS will play the first two matches of their premiership defence in Sydney, starting with an ANZ Stadium local derby against the GWS Giants.(Quote)

They should throw the top deck (Level 6) open and free entry for anybody with a show ticket. Great way to introduce families to the game...

You're probably correct. Since the Round 4 game is the Fri night SCG against Geelong, it's more likely that Round 2 is also a home game.

My guess is that the Hobart game might be Rd 3, not Rd 2. That would make more sense (as the Bellrieve games have to be played early in the season as it is going to be upgraded).

So my guess is GWS (A) rd 1, Home to unfurl the flag in Rd 2, Away to Kangas Rd 3, Home to Geelong Rd 4 and Away to St Kilda in NZ for Rd 5. Just wish they'd confirm the Hobart game - Virgin have a good deal for the direct flight from Canberra, but it only lasts until Sunday. And more importantly, I've convinced the better half of the merits of a weekend away in Hobart

Or a cow pad. Beats throwing confetti.
Nothing like a good light bulb moment.
