Keep him keen for next year, I'm worried about goodesy, he might just about be done.....Rohan is a goodes in the making. I good game in 5 will not keep u in our team...apart from defenders.... Goodes might be in trouble unless he hits the score board. He is a champion but ....... The game is catching him

McGlynn just tweeted a picture of Gary rubbing his name off the rehab list.

If his recovery continues at this pace I don't see why Rohan wouldn't be a chance for the A team in the last one or two minor round games.

Against Hawthorn or Geelong? Unlikely. It's great news but we have to be realistic. Look at how carefully the club managed Mitchell and what that program has now meant.

I hope he doesn't play ones and just makes it through the 2's unscathed ready for preseason.

          YES I'M A MONSTER!

          A cautious one.

If he's able to play a full game in the reserves, and his form suggests he can help our seniors win. He will play. Simples.

Longmire said he would play 30 minutes if he passes training this week. It's a long way from 30 minutes in the reserves to the seniors.

It is, but it's not 10 weeks....particularly if he's fit.

I know they will rightly take their time, but with all the injuries the Swans have and with the pure quality Rohan brings to the table, I can't image they're not thinking about him playing seniors this year.

A compound fracture isn't like any other leg injury and from what has been experienced by others in recent times, careful management of recovery and playing time is vital. Gazza certainly isn't being rushed back and I doubt he'll play all Ressies games this year, let alone time in the Ones. He will likely take a lot longer to recover from his Ressies runs along with full training and if he gets any additional pain, surely they'll ease off on his workload. The Broncos' Jharal Yow Yeh is still a long way off getting back to the NRL even though he has played a lower grade game or two. He had a similar break and is still on the long road back. Michael Barlow took a long time too, and by the sounds of things he rushed back a bit too soon at one stage which set him back a ways. Good news is that Barlow is back to his best and with a bit of match fitness in the Ressies this year, combined with a strong pre-season next year, hopefully Gazza will hit the ground running (pun intended) in 2014.

I admire your optimism but sometimes you have to take a reality check and realise he's been missing for 18 months and it's been a massive struggle to even get to this point where he can play 30 minutes of reserves football. I've come to the stage where I'm worried that long term injury victims like Shaw and LRT might be leaving their returns a little too late to figure in the finals and they are in a more advanced stage than where Gary is in at the moment.

Agree with you. I think it's fanciful to think Gaz will play seniors (especially finals) this year.

And like you I'm also getting pessimistic about LRT particularly, and Shaw...They have both been out an awfully long time.

I realise I am being optimistic, but I am hoping he plays some senior football this year.

I'm with you on this Ugg, as you will have seen from some of my earlier posts this thread. It does look, however, as though Gaz may now be ahead of LRT. Shaw is certainly still more advanced though.

Most likely scenario IMO is that Gaz is ready to go for Round 1 next year against the Giants.

The last thing we want is to rush back Rohan too early and set him back further in his recovery, as was the case with Barlow. It's wishful thinking that he'll be 100% fit and firing come finals time. If we want to see the best of Rohan, he shouldn't play seniors at all this year!
