Very very important win.....two theoretically simple games coming up....surely some time to get one or two blokes back for the run home....

BJ looks really good. Kicks didn't always go to plan but showed why the coaches have given him a go.

Had a feeling White would be pulled - I think he earned his pay tonight though.
I think I must have been watching a different game. Frankly I was disappointed in White's game tonight and I though he would be dragged. I was surprised how good Tippett is, he can play. I am the only one that was impressed and surprised how well Jed Lamb played tonight? I though Everitt looked like he was very comfortable down back also, just don't bounce the ball when a torrential downpour of rain is happening.

Watching a game of AFL football is a subjective thing for sure. I saw White get to a lot of contests, kick an amazing (disallowed) goal, lead his opponent to the ball more than half the time despite ordinary delivery, and do some good shepherding.

Lamb did looked good, as did Everitt, however not as assured as last time he played. I think you could put that down to being out for two weeks.

Overall I am just amazed at how well the <50 gamers played - all of them. I feel like we got a glimpse of the future swans tonight and it was great!

            happy with Lambie

            first 4 qtrs for Chops?

he does it easy with the skills - he has intent to win the ball and does - big question is does he have the engine to take on the midfield ??? I think he is Jude Boltons HFF replacement come next year unless Rohan and Co kick ahead of him

I had no faith, and I'm happy to be proven wrong. Though to be fair we've coughed up games from that position twice this season.

To have 9 (10 including Mattner) missing from our best 22 and still beat a decent Carlton side is really positive. Last week stings considering we could be second but I'm feeling good about the rest of the year.

Lamb was so good and Tippett is a monster in the wet. Imagine him in a dry game!

                What a game! Excellent win.

I was really impressed with some of the pressure things done by Lamb and his general contribution. I do hope he can get some more games. I know you can't read too much into one game but if it came to a choice between him or Morton, and I am a Morto fan, I think I would go with Lamb on what he showed tonight. Have to take back my criticisms of Everitt too and agree that he does have something to offer our team. He contributed well tonight even if he did get a bit carried away with his attempt to upstage Jets.

Not perfect - turnovers resulting in too many UCMs - but very gutsy win. And as The Who might have said about our youngsters - The Kids Are Alright !

A good win in terrible conditions but they are better than Carlton (even with 7 ? players out of our best side).
Lamb and Rampe both very good.

Tom and Brandon coming along fine.
Nice to see X earn a chance to get a taste of senior footy.

Mike Pyke ... a real competitor

That Chap Kurt may be a REALLY good player when it gets dry !

agree Lambie is on the up and can play a more varied role then Morto and he appears to be moving towards a genuine 22 player

but there is 9 to come back into the snrs !!!

To me the big story was Brandon Jack. The numbers are not important. They will take care of themselves in due course. The important thing is the way he moves. He moves like a natural footballer. He moves like a future star.

Hugely relieved to win tonight with many outs and The Blues at nearly full strength , 2MMM callers predicting a Carlton win at thee quarter time, judging on stats you sort of had to concur, but Swans dug up a bit more mongrel in the last 20 mins.
Well done Swans, awful conditions for everyone, waterboys, runners, and well done Blues for giving us a great scrap.
Even the seagulls had taken shelter.

Have to be happy with that, even if I started to have my doubts in the third quarter. The pattern of the game, at that point, was eerily similar to last week.

As others have said, Lamb and BJ didn't look out of place, Everitt is growing in confidence (and effectiveness), and Tippo was very impressive in the conditions. I am looking forward to seeing how a forward line with he, Reid and Goodes functions.

Brandon Jack really impressed me. He looks like a natural born footballer.

Really positive from many fringe/ new players:

Everitt had a fabulous game in conditions that don't suit him.I reckon he's really growing as a player this last month or 2.

Lamb, finally given 4 quarters, he was busy all night and looked like he belonged.

Tippett was just awesome for a big guy in those conditions.

B Jack showed plenty of intent and is one to be excited about. He's got some real toe.

Mitchell looks like he's been there for years, .

Rampe gets better with every outing.

                                Lots to be optimistic about.
Whenever you find yourself on the side of the majority, it's time to pause and reflect... MT
