    I saw this a few times last night. The ball bouncing off team mate chests as they weren't expecting the ball as it came at them so fast.
    Happened to Kennedy at least once. Don't recall the other few.

      I was going to say it happened to Kennedy, so he must be quick.

        Jesse has 7 possies and kicks a point and gets completely toweled by Lachie Henderson, arguably Carltons best player, gets dragged in the last quarter when the game is on the line and is lauded as a hero.
        Reg keeps potential match winner Jarryd Waite to 9 possies and a point and gets bagged for having a shocker.
        Sometimes I wonder If i'm watching the same game!

          How wet did you get last night, aardy?
          I knew him as a gentle young man, I cannot say for sure the reasons for his decline
          We watched him fade before our very eyes, and years before his time

              special mention to ROK also

              had a run with role with Bryce then Juddy

              Disposals =

              ROK = 29

              Bryce = 26

              Juddy = 22

              Great effort to nullify the impact of the two significant playmakers at the Blues and come out on top with Disposals !!!

                We all agree LRT is a champ right? Here are his disposals playing in the forward line last year when he was a revelation and everyone got on the LRT bandwagon.

                11,12,11,9,20,9,7,7,4,14,12,6,7,12,10,12,12,4,12,8 ,

                So White's game last night is only half as good as LRT's best (ignore the 20, that was a flogging of melbourne) but keep in mind:

                - LRT was not sharing the ground with Tippet
                - It was _dumping down_
                - White got those 7 disposals in 3 quarters
                - etc....

                So I would say White did just fine.

                The thing is, I just don't like bagging any of the players, they are all great players. Some are greater than others, but really, they are all elite.

                    He'd probably also have a whinge if he played at Docklands in the wet with the roof open. If you lay at a cushy home ground with a roof and you get done playing in the wet or wind I don't have a lot of sympathy for you.

                      As someone said earlier, he played more of a sacrificial role. I don't think there are stats kept for most of those off-the-ball endeavors.

                      I really wish I could use the term 'sacrificial lamb', but unfortunately not relevant to this comment. I'll save that one up.

                      And in regards to Malthouse - his wife just needs to get him his slippers and a tea, and say "yes dear" to everything he grumbles about until he tires and has a nap.

                        That's getting a bit personal Stell I had to go to the local church trivia night. As you can imagine it was a blast and although a bit foggy on the way home we had no rain here.

                        I can't fault Jesse's effort level he is trying his best. And I too would love to see him be a star but in the game I saw last night he got in the way more than anything else and Lochie Henderson had a picnic.

                          I was at the game and watched the replay today. Jesse won some really hard ball and his one percenters were really good. He blocked, tackled, shepherded and contested all night. Henderson and Jamison switched between White and Tippett. While Jamison was resting on bench White took White. Wasn't fazed with Jesse's game he played his role and if he indeed did have flu more than his role.

                          Hannas is back and young Brandy is going to be a star. I thought our young brigade were sensational last night and the old blokes had good games too. Birdie is back and so is Jude. Jed showed everyone how to play wet weather footy, good hands, great feet. Lukie Parker is WOW! ROK is the benchmark in workrate.

                          Macca and Kizza you should be proud of your team, they showed so much character in such dreadful conditions. By the way we were also getting a bit wet in the stand. The roof had a leak.

                              The rule states that if a player is taking an out of bounds on the full free kick and he kicks the ball out of bounds but the ball never enters play then it is deemed out of bounds not on the full as it never entered the field of play in the first place. The umpire was right.

Oh no, skinny Xav who plays in defense. With obviously no serious expectation that an emergency would be needed, neither Horse nor Xav or anyone else expected him to get a game. I was wondering at the beginning of the last quarter whether they would actually bring him on, thinking the opposition would chew him up and spit him out but it was good to see that he did get on the field and actually survived! I wonder how he was feeling sitting there on the bench!
                              Got a kick too Rojo and took a leap in a pack situation and competed very well. He is going to be exciting next year when he develops physically.

                                I can get it would be one of those games where watching on the tele makes a world of difference to watching it live. I know I like the big lug, but he really was working his butt off all game. I would question, even for watching it on the tele, that he got "dragged", I sit right near the bench (hence hearing them talking him up) and it honestly seemed like they had reached the point of "we gotta get the kid a run!" and they were never going to take a mid off for X and the options for talls to come off were pretty limited.

                                He was the right guy to bring off, he was spent- I think he'd -maybe- had 2 short rests max, but possibly only 1, through the game to that point which suggests the coaching staff weren't unhappy with him. Factoring in he'd been unwell all week and probably wasn't really fit to play, playing 83% out of a possible 88% of the game as a leading tall forward and back up ruck in the wet is probably a fair effort that deserves a thumbs up.
