Surpised Jed Lamb didn't get a chance. Not surprised about Rohan - he has had little impact and is clearly struggling to get back into it (a pre-season will fix that).

Good to see Biggs rewarded for what he did 2 weeks ago!

      Not sure whether to think:

      1. "we're stuffed and Horse is giving the next generation some finals experience", or

      2. "Horse has given up on the returning champions strategy and is putting faith in the fit youngsters who got us here".

I'm hoping its the latter, but what I'd give to be a fly on the wall for the match committee!

Nothing for it now. Saturday night will tell. It will be one for the ages if we win the cup from here, but a stunning effort nonetheless if we make next week.

I think we are stuffed and are playing the players available. Robbo on AFL 360 said he liked what John Longmire had done and that he could have gone for mature bodies but went for youth to inject some excitement. Goes to prove what we have always said they do not know our players or how injury ridden we are. Robbo we don't have any mature bodies they are all injured. I went through the list and there is no one else to choose.

Given who was available, this is about the best team we could have selected. Whether someone like Lamb would have been a better choice than Bolton is arguable, but unlikely to have made any real difference in the game.

This team is still more than good enough to give Carlton a hiding if our regulars play up their usual standard, as opposed to what was dished up last week.

Could have played LRT or Rohan.

Am genuinely amazed that this is not an even money game with the bookies. If it was at the scg I could accept us being favourites, but they basically have close to their best 18 available. Their top end talent is probably as good or a little better than ours. Where we usually have an advantage over sides like Carlton is our bottom half of the list and home ground, neither of which is available to us.

If we win it will be because of contributions froma range of players who no one would have expected to play for us in the regular season let alone in a knock out final.

Last week I was so excited I couldn't work because of the importance of the game. This week I am just struggling to get motivated.

Still I might look at the price of flights up on sat morning just to participate...

Well Goodes will only miss one possibly two weeks. That's positive.

Yes, heard it straight from the horses mouth.
I'm confused about what you're all going on about. Horse said he pulled up sore but hadn't re-injured himself... What am I missing?

In brief summary, Horse has told Adam that he can concentrate on finding a date for this year's Brownlow and put his footy away for the year.

It makes me wonder how he is ruled out for the year when he was nearly playing this week. Perhaps they think that if they get through this week, there is no chance next week.

Well I hope Adam finds his his mystery blonde. He's been coming up significantly csorten in the last few years.

I know I am a bit flat because the Swans appear to be limping into the finals, but is it just me or are the finals flat this year anyway? Does not seem to be the buzz there usually is at this time of year and I am just wondering if with the Essendon thing dragging on all year that this year has been disappointing. Its as if everyone can't wait for the year to be over. This weekend appears flat, the pre-lims seem to have been decided before they have been played which makes you wonder why the 4 teams are even bothering this weekend. There needs to be some energy injected into the finals maybe Essendon should have been allowed to play after all.

No Erica, but there seems to be more tickets sold than people going.

I think the Swans limping into the finals may have tainted your impression. Great results last weekend apart from the Swans and if Port can knock off the Cats it will be very exciting.

Sydney might come back with a "dead cat bounce" this week and throw some life into it for another week.

                                Essendon Injection.jpg into finals!

Excellent choice of words. I think you're on to something.

If the Swans don't get through I think the AFL should reverse their decision and allow Essendon to go back onto their supplement program (well, they've done nothing wrong according to Hird), and to compensate for the great injustice done, send them straight through to play Hawthorn in the Grand Final.

That should spice things up a bit, and keep Caroline Wilson busy well into her 90s.
