I think it's psychological in that we judge White harshly because of all the disappointment we've had over the years. Based on latest form I'd say it was a tossup.
Personally, I would like to see both in the team. I think White is better offensively and Reid defensively.Comment

I agree. It's been great to see Jesse improve so much this year and the extra application/dedication he has put in during training has certainly paid off. Reid would replace LRT at CHB. The advantage he can be thrown up forward when required. Like the Weagles did with our fav man Hunter.Nothing like a good light bulb moment.Comment

Ok, I'll stir the pot..
We need a crumbing half-forward.
Collingwood have just delisted one - a couple of seasons from Didak - he is after all a 30 to 40 goal a season player.
May just need a change of scenery/coach and discipline.spriteComment

The more I think about it, the more it seems that the decision of what to do with White will decide how we approach the off season trading and recruitment, because if he stays it pushes Reid to the backline and forces us to consider if we are too top heavy with the 4 talls.Comment

One of the things we've been missing is having a tall defender that can either run and carry or present for a marking outlet from defence (a big weakness in Grundy's game IMO). Reid can do both.

Hawthorn are the strongest in this area with Rioli, Breust and Puopolo. All three are good defensively, kick goals and play through the midfield.
Didak can kick a goal, but doesn't do the other 2. The likes of BJ, Harry C and Jed Lamb are likely to fill this this role the coming years.

Yes, he can do both as well. Will be great.
He's the best at the run and carry part, but hasn't quite shown enough as a key defender. I think he can be a valuable tall utility and will may succeed LRT in that role, although he is unlikely to ever be LRT's equal defensively.Comment

White continues to impress and we need him to get him to stay!
Reid , Tippett and White could all play in the same forward line due to White ability to play high half forward!
If you are looking for a Collingwood recruit I would be looking at Harry Obrien more than Jolly, Didak and Heath Shaw.
Based on media reports I don't think Obrien is getting along brilliantly with Buckly and would inject some great run and pace out of our back line! Imagine the quick link up play he could provide with Jetta, Rohan, Goodes and Jesse White. It would be electric! Our first round or Mumford should do that deal!Comment

I would love the Swans to get the number one pick from GWS, but it would take more than Shane Mumford. The Swans would also need to give GWS another hard bodied midfield player (like a Luke Parker) and possibly also there late 1st round pick to get the GWS number one pick.
Tom Boyd would be gun player to get on Swans list though!
In reality, GWS don't need to trade for Mumford as they can pick him up with pick one of the Pre-Season draft, assuming that plan is not in place for Franklin!Comment

Very well said. I have been one of White's greatest detractors. But the bloke has his mojo back. Whatever he is doing to improve his game and whatever the club is doing to bring out his best, it's working. There is still much to improve but its working. I would definitely keep him at the Swans."Play like you can’t lose."Comment

I've always been amazed at the criticism that White had received given his initial value! He was taken in the 70s in the final round of the 2006 draft.
White has delivered far more to the Swans than they would have expected for such a low pick. He is on the verge of becoming one of the elite key forwards of the competition.
How come you don't look at first round draft picks like Jed Lamb and Dene Towers and ask you selfs what these players are delivering compared to Jesse White.Comment
