I think Buddy coming to the Swans is unlikely, then again if the Swans can find a spot on the Rookie list for homeless Rugby Star James O'Conor, it may happen!

Wow! James O'Connor, Heath Shaw, Buddy Franklin and Dustin Martin. I hear the Hells Angels are our new sponsor and Chopper is standing for Chairman.

I cant see how the Mummy could get to Hawthorn. Even if he nominates there, GWS would have better trade options and the earlier PSD pick. What would the Hawks give up for him? What would we want from them? Can they trade a priority pick they recieve for Franklin already? When are those picks determined?

If the Mummy tried to force his way out through the PSD we'd also have an earlier PSD pick and he'd need to price himself away from us.

You'd have to say that White will go and good luck to him, but I think the Mummy will likely re-sign.

While this would never happen, maybe we trade Tippett for Franklin? Or, Tippett to GWS for a top 10, then Mummy and the GWS pick for Franklin. After the way we got Franklin last year anything is possible.

Maybe we could trade Tippett to the Dogs for Griffen. I'm sure Tippett has family down there.

I made a joke earlier, but my serious opinion is this may be a trade period where the Swans take no recycled players but find new homes for
          - White
          - Mumford
Maybee Ben MyGlyn and Jed Lamb.

We will build and give opportunities to our youth and have some free agency money next season!

Buddy is a delicious red herring. Why would he leave the Hawks to play for the Swans ? Only GWS has the finances/salary cap space to make a move away from the Hawks plausible.

Hawks are now resigned to the fact that Buddy is going. If they decide Mummy is a juicier proposition then an AFL decreed pick, they may prefer to deal with Sydney than GWS. Lots of ifs and buts such as does Buddy want to go to the Swans, can we fit him in the cap etc. but it may get interesting....

Mummy and Longer from Brisbane are 2 enticing rucks that appear to be on the market. I reckon Mummy will go to GWS and the Hawks will get Longer.

Apparently Longer wants to go back to Melbourne but we should check him out anyway.

It is rumoured that we are talking to Buddy Franklin!

Does Josh Kennedy have any interest in emulating his family achievements at the Hawks?

Does the Hawks have any interest in bringing Kennedy back home?

If these answers both come back as yes, then trade week would go up a notch!

Buddy is a free agent and isn't Kennedy on a decent contract now?

Don't like the sound of a 3rd round pick from the Wobbles( ie around pick 50) for White....Surely , at 25, he is worth at least a 2nd round pick.

Doggies also reportedly interested. Hopefully we can convince White to go there..Swans would be in for a much better deal.

Go on Jesse...be the No.1 boy on the Dogs forward line.

Agree. If there are more than one club in the frame for his services, which there appears to be, surely we can do better than a pick in the high 40's, compensation picks pending.

I thought priority picks stopped last year so if Franklin went to GWS then there would be no compensation.
Nothing like a good light bulb moment.

Pretty sure they are still given with Free agency. Problem with the free agency system is that it costs the buying club nothing in draft terms.

Two different things BRC. Hawks will get a compensation pick for Buddy as will all clubs losing free agents. Priority picks were for poor performance which is why Melbourne were applying for an extra one.

John Ralph on SEN thinks Swans can fit Buddy in the cap due to the retirements of Bolton, Morton and Matner as well as White leaving and possibly Mumford. The money wouldn't be as much as GWS but it would get Buddy to Sydney (which he wants) and puts him at a team with a premiership window.
