      I'm guessing there's more money in those 3 years than he would have got at the Swans for the 4 he was after. Best of luck to him, fairly dissapointed to see him go but appreciate it doesn't look to have been his first choice.
      I knew him as a gentle young man, I cannot say for sure the reasons for his decline
      We watched him fade before our very eyes, and years before his time

        He seems pretty happy in the photo so that is the main thing.

        He might not have to move house depending on his living arrangement.

          I've never really understood the high value put on draft picks vs established players. How could two or three established players (each providing a near certain capability) be worth a high draft pick (a relative unknown). Sure the high draft pick might be a gun, but history shows they're almost as likely to be a dud.

          I actually wonder whether recruiters have a version of gambler's blindness, where they are so taken with the potential prize that they ignore the risks and downside.

          Correct me if I'm wrong, but the Swans don't seem to have been in the business of trading for high picks (except maybe in return for player-requested trades), but rather going for lower risk, but lower return, fringe players from other clubs. Perhaps this is part of our success.

            my guess is that besides White, Mummy, bolton, morton and mattner the guys that would want to move would be Grundy, Dre, Birdy, Tommy Walsh and possibly Lambie ?

            of the primary 5 guys leaving as at now we are equal to if not better ie

            Bolton = Parker
            White = Buddy
            Mummy = Pyke primarily playing ruck like Hale does most of the game and having some help from the TIP ?
            Mattner = Rampe/AJ
            Morton = BJ

            Birdy would be perfect for Melb or GWS..........same with Grundy me thinks !

            Plus we need to save some money via a few more picks and hence being cheaper as they are not needed yet but will be in a few years

              GWS wont use the PSD to get Mummy. It will be a draft selection. I'm hearing that GWS are keeping the PSD for a bigger named player based from a high profile Melb based club.They're cashed up and angry!

                Who are the remaining out of contract big name players that are not free agents?

                  Oh how I would love it if GWS pulled off a coup of their own. Eddie and the Melbourne media would be apoplectic! Even more so than they are now! Is it too much to hope for?!

                    I'm hoping they take Daisy, Heath Shaw and O'Brien. Maybe somehow Pendlebury or Swan

                        After reading that SEN report, how many managers does Jesse have?

                            We have to get him! Imagine the double dates at Bondi Icebergs - Buddy with Jacinta Cambell and Shaun Hampson and Megan Gail!

                              I thought he would be worth a second rounder. Maybe if we get Collingwood's second round pick for White, we could use that for Hampson, trumping Richmond's second rounder ever so slightly.

                                there is a reason he can't get a game at Carlton !
