If we want trade up to earlier picks, then we'll have to do it with other clubs, because GWS will give us nothing. They will be out to screw us big time.Comment

In the long run, the Swans will get the upper hand if there is bad blood between the clubs.
As a Swans fan, I'm happy to see players like Mummy go to the Giants if it can help them become more competitive. I much prefer to see players move between the 2 Sydney clubs than have them go to a Victorian team.Comment

But if they actually got this one right, you'd think he'll be heading elsewhere.Whenever you find yourself on the side of the majority, it's time to pause and reflect... MTComment

I have a bad smell about us gaining some good draft picks for some of our players such as trading Mumford,Everitt, Lamb, Armstrong. I now think that GWS will get Mummy in the PSD. And we may do a schneider, dempster, buchanan to off load some players for late picks if clubs aren't forthcoming with an earlier draft pick. The opposition clubs would know that with Tippett and Franklin on our books that we would try and free up more salary space and possibly call our bluff to either delist or agree late picks. I hope I'm wrong.Comment

I doubt he would agree to come on a vastly reduced salary, and there are concerns about his fitness... but I've been a big fan of Chappy for a long time now, and could see him being a useful cog in that hard-tackling fulltime forward role that Jude played this year.
177th Senior AFL Match - Round 4, 2009 - Sydney vs Carlton, SCG. This is obviously out of date. I suppose I'll update it once I could be bothered sitting down with the fixture and working it out....

He'll be 32 next year. But he's a pretty good player. Could come in for one year, get another premiership medal, and then he's gone. If there's a free spot on our list at the end of all the trading, it could be worth a go.

I just realised that if Mummy goes in the PSD then the next cab off the rank is Melbourne, so Jed Lamb can just walk to the Demons through the PSD, and perhaps Dre then goes to the Saints. So there's a very real scenario where were we could lose several players for nothing.Comment

Thats an awful lot of players people are planning to offload, added to the three retirees and one delisting! Oughten we keep a couple of them, you know, so we can field a team of senior players in 2014???If you've never jumped from one couch to the other to save yourself from lava then you didn't have a childhoodComment

And we have a slew of starters coming back from injury. I have a lot of trouble fitting in players like Shaw, LRT and McGlynn in next year's side when everyone is up and running.Comment

Bit of shame the whole thing. An ignominious end (or close to it) for a true champion. It's a tough game.
We can hardly complain about losing players for nothing, we've gained two stars for nothingComment
