Last year we couldn't give Jesse away and now getting #44 for him. I actually think he's worth far more than that but what can you do....Good luck to Jesse and hope he can deal with the pressure and expectations that comes with playing for the Pies.

The real issue for the Giants now isn't who they will pick up; it's who they have missed out on. Missing out on Buddy will have a huge impact on their bottom line as they continue to struggle with a bunch of pretty much nobodies in a tough market where few people care for them. That's what's annoying the Giants, and more so the AFL.Comment

Surely a few are overrating Jesse just on his most recent performances. Theres been stages where Jesse wasnt even dominant in the NEAFL, and seemingly the only time he gets his butt in to gear is when contracts are to be negotiated. Talented guy but nowhere near deserving of the hype that some here are indulging in.
Many times he has been left wanting over many years, he has been given time in the seniors only to most times fade out of the side. Wasnt there an article stating that he saw footy more as a pasttime and not a real passion. Unless that is of course a contract negotiation is coming up. Could do well at the pies but the stats and facts suggest he will have a short period looking like he is the next Franklin and then fade into obscurity. I dont think the media or pies fans will be quite as forgiving as what he has received up here either.Comment

...We only were offering 2 & perhaps less money. That says he wasn't really part of our plans once we set our sights on Buddy.
Colateral damage so to speak so the least we could do is get him to the club that will at least give him the best deal with out any difficulty. GWS for pick 35 thankyou very much.Comment

So far we seem to be clearing a lot of space in our cap, If we are putting buddy on 700k in the first year.... Where is the rest going?
Even allowing for pay upgrades to some of our resigned stars we are clearing 2 million in salary.
Is there a chance we are after another coup or are we planning for the end of COLA
Jude 300k (+100k vet)
Marty 350k
Mitch 150k
Jesse 300k (reportedly)
Mummy 350k
Assume Andres and Armstrong are on around 200kStaying ahead of the game...Comment

It has probably already been said but on SEN radio last week Scott Lucas ex Essendon footballer and now player manager said that the Swans have no bargaining power in this trade as all the players they have put up are all out of contract and can just leave and go in the draft if not traded.
So what ever draft picks we get are a bonus.Comment

I hope we keep Everitt, but I suspect Armstrong will be delisted. With Collingwood rejecting him, and unable to break into the Swans lineup in a heavy injury year, its hard to see his AFL career continuing.
I couldnt help but see the same old "easily brushed off" type player in the International Rules yesterday.Comment

[QUOTE=R-1;628396]High third rounder is actually probably fair for an out of contract Jesse White who owes us nothing./QUOTE]
It all depends on which Jesse the Wobbles have acquired...
If it's the one that played the 2nd half of this year....Then we've been bent over in this trade.
Of course it's this years 'Good Jesse' that the Pies are basing the trade on, so they will rightly feel they've done well.
But if it's 'Ordinary Jesse', from the previous 4 years...ie inconsistent at best... Then we got a good deal.
As is usually the case, time will tell.

As for Everitt, it's hard to see us getting a usable draft pick for him...ie lower than our 5th pick , No.53.
So unless we can get a comparable player swap, we shouldn't just let him go.
He had his best year and is still young..He's a good size, quick...And I love the way he can roost the ball.
I really hope we keep him.Whenever you find yourself on the side of the majority, it's time to pause and reflect... MTComment
