Everitt is the best key position defender on our list under 28. I'd like him to stay, and I'd say he's at a similar level as Ted Richards was at his age.

Everitt is not a key position defender.

Grundy is 27 but I agree with wanting Everitt to stay.

You of little faith! You watch - pick 44 will turn out to be a master stroke. I anticipate that Horse will be interviewed at the end of the draft and he will say "We were really rapt that (insert draft hopeful's name here) was still available at 44, as we expected him to go much earlier. We have (kept our eye on him/watched his development closely) all year and we really rate him highly." Then we will all go to Youtube to see who the hell this kid is and confidently predict that the blurry images that we see shows signs of Plugger/Kizza/Mick Nolan in the way he moves and that we see a big future for him in the red and white. You just watch.

I am a bit annoyed that Jesse finally starts coming good - and he's off !
Oh well , c'est le football.

You might eventually be proven right , Dosser : pick #44 does not sound too exciting in 2013 , but so what ? Pick #43 probably did not sound too exciting in 1997 !

Geez I hope he moves better than Mick "the galloping gasometer" Nolan. He had a worse turning circle than the Queen Mary.

West Coast needed the higher of the two picks to get Yeo from the Lions and are confident their preferred player will still be available at 10 (probably involves a "gentlemans agreement with the Pies to not draft him) so in that context it is good business.

Just back from Melbourne for four days and Everitt has been linked with St Kilda even though GWS are still the favourite. Trent West from Geelong still being mentioned as possible trade bait in general terms...

Reckon we will somehow try and get Dre packages up with either 39 or 44 to be a decent second round pick which should be able to get us a decent ruckman to share the load with Pikey next year. Will still leave us with three top 40 picks which is apparently about how deep this draft goes

Paul Chambers drafted to Swans in 2005 draft in exchange for pick # 35. Trade done after attempts to get an Everitt (Spider) and a White (Jeff) failed. During same trade period we were baulking at the high price Essendon were asking for Ted Richards and ROK wanted a trade to a Melb club but the deal couldn't be brokered. Relevance to current trade period, probably none. Relevance to thread, even less but what the hell.

Found it Lamb chops Sydney, joins Giants as Pies snare White

That's awful, especially with GWS his chosen team. They'll give us jack squat for him.

We should have let Mummy got to the PSD and take up their 1st pick, then we would have some negotiating power for Lamb.

Our time will come. They will now become our number one target. Any gaps in our list, we'll know where to look for former 1st round draft picks.

I now consider the GSW Giants the Sydney Swans Reserves (Team B).
