The girls are probably happy about it and may already view themselves as celebrities......Comment

Those readers are probably not reading The Monthly, Time Magazine or the Economist. The don't tune in to watch question time at 2.00pm and don't watch Q and A.
They represent common regular people who enjoy a little bit of celebrity gossip and enjoy some beach flesh. They are raising children, managing households, working long hours and look forward to a dose of light entertainment.
The two women photographed are probably not celebrities, but they would understand that when you hang out with celebrities, wearing lovely beach attire, then there is always a chance of being photographed!
I wonder now if Tom D is going to start appearing in the articles as another Swan being led astray .Comment

If three young guys talking to two girls in bikinis at the beach is being led astray then we have an epedemic on our hands in this country that rivals the obesity problem.
The amount of times growing up on the beach that I now realise I was being led astray simply terrifies me.
We all have to get together now to help these young men before its too late . Get them off the beach on their day off and back into some meaningful community work feeding the poor and sheltering the homeless as the rest of us do on our day off.
Swans are doomed if this is the standard of behaviour we are going to get in the Buddy era .
(PS - Buddy would have to be the ultimate wingman wouldnt he - Hanners/Derikx -" Yeah sorry girls he's taken but Im free ")Comment

There's a lot more to be gained by reading 'No Idea' than those propaganda rags or watching those public indoctrination shows.Comment

Rumour mill feeds itself?? I'll say. This is post #82, on a subject that has as much credence as an episode of Jerry Seinfield - a show about nothing.
and for what its worth, I could just slap Rebecca Wilson. She is supposedly a Swans supporter, but her status as a journalist has been a bit missing over recent times, so she comes up with this crap. I am not going to ask the boys to live in a monastery, they are blokes, they have a life. Noone is maimed, noone is being arrested, noone is being accused of making babies unlawfully. And I do expect them to find themselves girls, women, wives and partners, act like human beings, and have a few laughs along the way. And play good footy. If you've never jumped from one couch to the other to save yourself from lava then you didn't have a childhoodComment

You don't hear of many WA footballers who want to play in Sydney! We have some WA footballers on our list who came through the draft! Jason Ball and Mark Seaby are the only ones that come to mind, and those two really had to come to Sydney to get a game!
We have Bondi Beach and the Harbour and this becomes the sell to players like Tippett and Buddy! It's about warmer sun, warmer water, better surf, great girls and more private lifestyles!
Perth has great girls, great beaches, sunny lifestyle, great pubs and strong football clubs! Perth has the same offering as Sydney and there is not the lifestyle incentive for Perth guys to come over to Sydney!Comment

Scott Stevens.
In fairness to Matt80, I think he was talking about players that came to the club other than thru the draft.
However, I'm still not sure what he's getting at because until free agency came around a few years ago, there was no real way of getting to a club of choice anyway, so its hard to draw any correlation between a lack of WA players begging to move to the Swans and any similarities in sun, surf and sand.Driver of the Dan Hannebery bandwagon....all aboard. 4th April 09Comment

Interesting isnt it, if you consider the facts as compared to the rumours about lack of harmony .
Dont you think that the first sign of disharmony would someone in the core playing group not wanting to sign any long term deals.
Instead we have seen a glut of recent extensions to contracts. So it would seem that therefore the players are so unhappy that they have voted with their feet and re-signed rather than resigned. Based on this FACT as opposed to the rumours it would seem that there are very few disenchanted players (and coach).
But lets not ruin a good story - Hannebery off the rails at Bondi Beach and crashing cars , Kennedy never liked buddy and was part of the reason he left Hawthorne, McGlynn same, McVeigh / Jack / Ted all so desperately unhappy , Rohan/Smith desperate to get back to Melbourne, Jetta sick of being called Leroy , Grundy wants to play with his brother , Buddy washed up at 27.Comment

This is the record (to the best of my recollection) of recycled players at the Swans since 2005.
2006 - Richards - vic
2006 - terrible back up ruck from Geelong
2007 - Everitte - Vic
2008 - Matner - SA
2009 - Shaw - Vic
2010- Kennedy - Vic
2010- McGlynn - Viv
2010 - Mumford - Vic
2010 - Seaby - WA
2011 - Everitte - Vic
2012 - Armstrong - SA
2012 - Walsh - Vic
2012 - Morton - Vic
2013 - Tippett - SA
2014 - Laidler - Vic
2014 - Franklin - Vic
2014 - Tom D - Vic
As you can see with that list we have recruited just one recycled player from Perth and no players from Brisbane or the Gold Coast.
Is this not a sign that players from SA or Victorian clubs, look forward and desire the sun filled beach life style of Bondi?
Players from Brisbane, The Gold Coast, West Coast and Fremantle already have the sun/beach lifestyle so there is not the incentive to come to Bondi.Comment
