it is really strange about that, we do. We were looking pretty good until we used it LOL. I read something recetly in the SMH that said altitude training is pretty useless and that in some cases can be a negative. So who knows?

Out; Rohan (get some big form in the twos), Shaw (I know it is only one bad one and one pretty good but this happens regularly against Pies), ROK. In; Laidler, BJ & Membrey.

I would love to see Reg get a holiday just to teach him he can't be so bleeding terrible with his handball but I know it won't happen. But I think he might like to start doing everything right because there is a big bloke in the Twos who wants his spot and he is playing great footy in the Twos. That is Aliir who is again in the best for the Twos.

    OUT: The Game Plan.

IN: Strategies that work. No long bombs!!!!!!

Our disposal efficiency is terrible. We can't hit players up on the lead which tells me we need a lot of skills work. We are unfit and we lack contested ball work at training.

Yes altitude, shame it doesn't also assist with poor disposal!

Give him time in the 2nds where he can rebuild his confidence in his body and his footy.

I love the kid, but I'm also a realist, and to me he isn't doing enough to warrant his spot.
Last night he had 8 disposal (6 kicks, 2 handballs), 1 Mark, 25% disposal efficiency, 6 tackles, 3 1%ers and 1 behind for the night. I know he was injured by the sounds of it, but then last match against GWS he had: 9 disposals (5 kicks, 4 handballs), 2 Marks, 3 clangers, 4 tackles, 66% disposal efficiency for 1 goal, 1 behind.

I love his tackling presence around the ground, but surely on those numbers alone, he really isn't doing enough to be earning his spot. I don't expect him to get 40 touches and to dominate a match. But he should be getting 15-20 disposals a game, and if he is going to be playing more up front, has to be getting something on the board to go with it.

Its harsh on the kid, but it would be better for him in the long run imo to get his form back in the 2s.
I respectively disagree. Playing Rohan as a tagger on Dangerfield could really help Rohan and the team.

Rohan is the obvious physical match up for Dangerfield. He has the height, the speed, the defensive skills and the ability above his head. The Swans don't have anyone else to go with Dangerfield who has the right combination of physical attributes. Ben McGlynn, Kieran Jack and Lewis Jetta have the pace but would be easily beaten in the air by Dangerfield. ROK, Bird, Hanners, McVeigh or Kennedy don't have the pace. The Adelaide Oval is a large ground with space and the Swans will not be able to rely on tight midfield play to blunt his effectiveness.

I also think tagging Dangerfield would lead Rohan to the ball and teach him about positional play in the midfield. Tagging jobs brought on the careers of both Brett Kirk and Kieran Jack.

Give Rohan a chance to do a big job for the team. I can picture Rohan's confidence growing as he tackles and harasses Dangerfield with that special pace. The Swans need to give him more responsibility and I believe he will enjoy the challenge of stepping up.

I believe Rohan can grow into a Dangerfield for the Swans and become out next great midfielder. It's time to put Rohan in there with a clear job.

It is going to be extremely interesting how this game pans out.

Both teams are missing key forwards...

Both teams have been deplorable in the 4th quarter.

I'm sure there will be a few changes, especially after seeing the 2's had a big win....

But I don't think a few changes is the holy grail here...It's playing 4 quarters with the same intent and intensity we played the first quarter, and a bit, last night.

The Crows will be just as desperate...It's the old cliche...We need to play harder, smarter, stronger, for longer.
Whenever you find yourself on the side of the majority, it's time to pause and reflect... MT

            Agree Matt.

The only problem is that Danger has been spending a lot of time up forward and we haven't seen Rohan play in defence yet. Nor does he have the on ball experience to match it with him. A more likely match up is Rampe who also meets the physical criteria.

Rohan has played so little football in the past 2 years that it will probably be a bit too much for him to be dragged all over the ground by Dangerfield, who in addition to being quick is very fit. Rohan's hardly worked out what to do as a forward yet.

              Interesting comment Matt80!

Dangerfield has taught many oppositions a lesson and I don't think the coaching staff have the appetite for an experiment. Rohan's great pressure comes from him using his pace when there is space, but I think Dangerfield would murder him in close.

We have plenty of capable midfielders than can rotate on him and it has to be a team defence effort.

I think Rohan is an important peice of our forward set up. Get him in to dangerous spots and use him there.

Play BJ inside 50 deep with Buddy - Buddy will always bring the ball to ground BJ has the pace and skills, leave these two deep 50.

BJ offers genuine pace and good crumbing but inconsistency when aiming at the big sticks. Buddy is clearly happier up the ground and why put a guy who can dob a ball 60 metres in the goal square? To fix our forwards Buddy needs to go to CHF,Sam Reid to FF, BJ to a flank,McGuine to a pocket and rotate off the other flank and pocket( Derricksx ,Pyke,Followers and midfields)

Rohan on the lead is my preferred possie - not tagging.......his tank is so inferior to a Pat Dangerfield it is not funny.........you cant make a guy a 10min flat runner over 3km over night and Gary Rohans endurance is nothing on Patty.........Rohan does not even make our top20 runners!

My guess is Gary felt nerve issues early in this game as the first 2qtrs he was very good with his pressure but then 3qtr died

BUT - I agree we are on the edge of the season running away from us and we have the following teams to play:

I think we need to persist with Harry in a wing HFF type roles......... i dont believe we can have more then BJ, Jetta and HarryC on the field at one time as they dont have strong enough tanks just yet and will get killed on the counter.........obviously Harry is the one we are persisting with right now and the coaching dept appears to know we need leg speed and we need to persist with making a faster player stronger in the tank by mid way thru the season.......the alternative is come finals and we havent developed one or two of our quick young guys then we will be in serious trouble on matchups

But right now we need to be able rotate our midfield thru the forward line and right now to many young small fast guys will not be able to cope in the midfield rotation

Adelaide - IN: LRT, BJ and Towers.............OUT: TomD, ROK and Rohan (only Rohan out if injury precaution and Towers playing same leading role)
                    North - ?
Freeo - ? if we feel we cant genuinely beat Freeo and we were still off the pace against North.....and if Goodes or Tip are ready bring one back so they have game time asap
Melb - return of Tippett, Goodes ? im not sure you could replace on the same day especially on the MCG but at least Tip will be back either last week or this week......

If Rohan was fully fit, and fully confident in his play, and playing well, I'd say go for it. But he is clearly still struggling for form, not 100% confident in his body, and as others have said, has never been tested at AFL level as a defender. If we stuck him on dangerfield, I'd fully expect we would see Dangerfield probably play out of the goal square and more than likely rip him apart.

I like Rohan and really hope he goes on to become the player that we all hope he will. But to think he could play a tagging role on one of the premier players in the competition is in my opinion, ludicrous.

                        My changes would be:

Out: ROK, Rohan, TD (assume he might be in trouble for that incident)
In: BJ, a ruckman (Naismith?), ???

ROK just looks so far off the pace it isn't funny. As I've discussed earlier, I think Rohan needs a serious period in the 2nds to get his confidence back. I assume TD is going to get suspended, if not give him another go.

I'd give BJ a go - we need more speed in the team (either in the midfield rotation or up forward), even if he isn't quite developed body wise. Not sure who else I'd bring in - maybe Towers or Laidler or Biggs, with McVeigh moving back into midfield (his disposal use was deplorable on Saturday night) if its one of the last two.

If I was being honest, I'd drop a big name as well to make it clear Saturday night was not good enough. McVeigh or Shaw imo were both awful, but McVeigh is and he is the sort of guy that can turn it around reasonably quickly. Shaw however will want to play a lot better this week or he will be in trouble at the selection table.

Good players need to find form. They haven't become ordinary players in two weeks. I doubt there's any magical fix from the twos.

                              Having said that, I'd go:

                              Out: Derickx, Shaw, Rohan
                              In: LRT, Laidler, B.Jack

Yeah, agree with that. Good players deserve more than to be dropped after 1 or 2 down games.

I obviously didn't see yesterdays game, but we were goddamn ordinary in the trial against the GWS seconds and nobody put their hand up that day, particularly BJ who was disappointingly invisible for much of the day.

On Rohan, he is obviously having a few issues with the leg, but if ever a player was suited to coming on and making an impact it is he. He has been the sub a few times previously and ripped teams apart late. Unless the match committee feels he needs to get more work into him and the sub job would be too detrimental to his fitness, a few weeks as sub may help him regain some confidence by coming on fresh and ripping in. A win-win.
