Rohan has been sub last two games, and subbed the one before so the question on his fitness is warranted. Give him a full game in the reserves and see how he goes.
Mitchell is not playing in the reserves, not Tom Mitchell anyway. Patrick Mitchell is playing reserves. Tom Mitchell is injured.

This selection will probably be sub.

Given Horses reverence of Lloyds running and endurance, surely he won't be the sub??? Or will irony strike.

I also think playing Derrickx, against this lot, is a waste of time...He won't handle the pressure.

Would of loved to see Membrey get a run, just for something new, something less predictable, another possible avenue to goal. He could of been our version of Chris Mayne.

Regardless of selections, the 2 main plusses are....It's going to be dry, and we'll be rank underdogs....I'm feeling more comfortable already.

Anyway, what really matters is a full on, nothing to loose, run yourself into the ground, fight to the death, attitude....for 4 quarters.
Towers was First Emergency last week so he got no game time. There is a policy at the Swans and most other AFL clubs not to play the first emergency if he does not play any game time. If the Reserves had played at SCG and not Blacktown he would have played a half. This is the reason he will play twos and BJ has got a gig. I like Membrey too Ernie and think he will be ok. I thought it was strange in the preseason games that we didn't get more game time at higher level into a few players that have been knocking at the door. We played Robbo who is probably a season away from a game due to body development but not Timbo & Aliir. Strange.

I can't see Lloydy being given a run with role, he is a play maker. Birdie will get a run with as might Benny. But the kid sets play up and gets free very easily. I would like to see BJ play, he hasn't been playing badly in the reserves, just playing a different role, a little further up the ground. I would like to see Rhyce sub but it won't happen. I can't see why Longmire prefers Shaw to Biggs. Got me stumped. Biggs can kick, rarely gets caught unaware, is a really good kick in player, can make space, looks before delivering, takes a really good overhead mark, punches really well, is tight on his opponent, doesn't leave his opponent needlessly and give away goals (he knows when to & when not to). All things that Rhyce can't do. So I am baffled.

The match last week was built for him. Lot's of hard contested ball in the middle - yet he was not put on the ball for all of the game. When he was there, he was not effective.

Barring injuries, I can't see him getting back in.
I would have loved seeing ROK kick that goal on the siren. Something told me that could have been his final kick in AFL football.

I think it started to fade for ROK late in 2013 in the Geelong game. Bartel got hold of him, and ROK could not contain him in a defensive forward role. ROK was perhaps fortunate for a lot of 2013, that Mckveigh was playing half back, leaving ROK in tight.

We all talk about form in the reserves being an indicator to senior selection. ROK due to his seniority, will get most of his game time in the middle. He will probably chalk up 40 touches, 12 tackles, and kick a couple of goals at NAFL level. If he produces that type of performance, will he come straight back in?

I really hope they don't waste McGlynn's good form on another run with role this week. He's been arguably the most consistent performer in the first four rounds. If they're going to have someone tagging it should be Shaw.

I agree that he will kill it at that level. But unfortunately time in the reserves is not going to make him run faster.

Agree with this. It was a huge mistake last week and I hope we don't repeat it.
He reminds him of the guys, close-set, slow, and never rattled, who were play-makers on the team. (John Updike, seeing Josh Kennedy in a crystal ball)

That's a fair point Goods78. Do you think ROK would be contemplating retirement or having a chat with Roosy, to see if there were some opportunities at the Demons in 2015?

LRT will be used to man The seven footer when he goes forward!

I think all of the above. A lot will rest on his longer term plans. It might not be worth it to uproot the family to Melbourne for a years worth of footy at a much lower wage (compared to now).

it may not be just a year of footy. It may be future coaching jobs too. Then also a restaurant or cafe for him to open in Melbourne as well

ROK is not capable of playing senior footy for any team. He's not playing in the reserves, because it is pointless. He is in the best possible form he can be in right now. That's the problem. The best thing he can do is announce his immediate retirement, as Mattner did last season when he realised there was nothing to be done to get him to play at AFL level.

If ROK was not injured wouldn't he be required to play in the reserves?

Would he not want to play reserves to try and get to back into the seniors and get to 300 games?
