There was some great advice given and I'm going to employ some of the tactics on the 30- and 40-something year olds I sit with too....

I'm wondering that if things get really tight tomorrow night and Nick is on the ground at just the right moment, would it be ok if he just miraculously just slots one through ?Comment

Geelong without two key defenders for clash with Swans - AFL.com.au
Can't say I am disappointed that this means the best 22 from each club aren't facing each other.Comment

I can't wait until I can take my little boy to the football. He is four and I don't think I can take him to the SCG without him needing to run around. Does anyone regularly take their young children to the football? What is your experience? How do you get them to sit still for a full three hours?
Child 2.0 went to her first footy game at a couple of months old (but to be fair we did bring her to the Swifts at 3 weeks so the early introduction to sports is still on) and she's still just a typical baby even at 11.5 months. She can sit relatively still for 20-30 minutes, but it's a lot easier if regularly supplied with snacks and bottles. If too restless, the less stressed parent (me at the netball, her at the football unless Geelong are playing) takes the little one for a walk away from the seats.
I don't know if either girl is going to grow up a footy fanatic like their mum and dad, but it won't be from lack of opportunities.
177th Senior AFL Match - Round 4, 2009 - Sydney vs Carlton, SCG. This is obviously out of date. I suppose I'll update it once I could be bothered sitting down with the fixture and working it out....

Lovely blurb from afl.com.au to make Ben feel like a star of the comp: "Stevie J returns for Geelong, whilst Swans regain forward"I knew him as a gentle young man, I cannot say for sure the reasons for his decline
We watched him fade before our very eyes, and years before his timeComment

Well done Jake Lloyd for holding his place. A rebuke to those idiots who predicted he'd be dropped in favour of Mr 64 Possessions (eg, me).
But I'm thinking he will be the sub and will return to the twos next week to get a full game, while Mitchell gets a run in the twos and gets promoted next week. The man who laughs has not yet heard the terrible newsComment

I didn't think they'd drop Lloyd, he is doing exceptionally well and on form he is in our best 22.
Mitchell will just have to keep stacking up the stats in the ressies and keep knocking on the door, as I have little doubt he will find a way back in given time. Its great to have some proper depth in the squad - its a good place to be, and what you need, as you never know when the injury curse might strike."You get the feeling that like Monty Python's Black Knight, the Swans would regard amputation as merely a flesh wound."Comment
